Well Joanne - Welcome back and you certainly look great today (The last time we saw you at the desk - you were not the usual chipper self). Thanks for the episode also - somehow it makes me feel good even though I realize (like Chicken Little) that the sky is falling.
The 4000th U.S. soldier has died in Iraq. Time for the MSM to run a couple of stories, quote the Prez saying the surge is working, and go back to speculating on who will be the next American Idol, or in the Final Four.
Oh, and for the neocons to remind us how few have died compared to their last little gambit, way down yonder in Vietnam.
Not to mention 30,000 wounded, more than half with brain injuries or missing limbs. Not to mention hardly at all, it seems.
And I believe some Iraqis have suffered too, yes? Can't seem to find any news about that. So maybe it's not happening after all. Now, where did I put that b-ball bracket?
Welcome back to the desk, J.
But pray tell, is gas really $4 a gallon in a lot of places? I'm paying $3.30 at the moment. The gummint says San Francisco is the most expensive at $3.66. (I'm guessing Kam pays more, but that's the price he pays for living in paradise.)
Gas was always higher in price in Europe. When I was living in Amsterdam (years ago) I was amazed that gas was being sold by the liter and was about 2-3 times as expensive as the USA gallon price (changing the liters to gallons). So $8 a gallon is not unreasonable - didn't you ever wonder why cars are smaller in Europe?
I like the news side of rocketboom but... when are we going to return to the artistic stuff?? ha ha! As of yesterday, supreme gas was $4.16 here, diesel slightly higher. Time to dust off the Ducati.
btw Dixon, nice mash up on the shivering site!

Did you hear the Olympic flame will be carried thru Tibet?
Now that I'm back at Harvard, I've learned a new word. Hypocrisy.
But don't axe me to spell it, I have to practice for a couple of days.
Sorry to be so shallow, but man, you looked fantastic today! I love that hair style on you, fits you nicely. Now, about all the terrible things happening in the world...
