This girl has gone MIA
Is she riding around Cape Horn on a Boda Boda
or just sitting under a Bodhi tree contemplating the meaning of lint?
I’d guess, if she doesn’t show by Tuesday, it is not just a case of the flu. Let’s beam her our very best.
just doesn’t look safe…
We have these motorbike taxis in Bangkok too.
Surely, they’re not the safest thing, but hey, they help liquidate the economy and thats a very good start for economic development.
and the chinese are making tons of money selling all those bikes
Waiting for Joanne’s recover it was refreshing to watch something from Africa. Another batch of Internet Scientists like that of this week’s surge would have driven me nuts.
It was overawing for ordinary people like most of us. Couldn’t we get them in smaller doses and a little more spaced out?
Wow, I’m the 4th comment? I’ve never been that early before.
Anyway, I think these bikes are pretty good - it’s teaching the younger generations how to start up and run a small business :)
wont catch me on one of those. dont trust the driver. dont trust the bike.
i agree, this is a possibility for the town to develop and grow. i’m also very happy to hear that the banks give loans and that the repayment works.
Then start a campaign (hell, write a two-page document and scan it as a PDF) that details how to ride motorbikes safely. It could potentially reach a few people, who might then widely disseminate tips by word of mouth.
Fascinating.
I don’t understand. If unemployment is so high how could they pay off the loans so quickly?
It seems the government just distracted the population with a new toy instead of real improvement.
why? its not like they are going at to high a speed. and why wouldn’t you trust the driver? because he is black? You racist! He is just as trust worthy as any cab driver…
Its the same in Colombia
bikes are dangerous enough, but add unlicensed driver to the mix and bam! You’re dead.
How do they get fares with such a high unemployment rate?
as if a license would make you a better driver.
you make a good point
all the money that ppl make there is tax free money
they pay off the loans with the money they get from their customers.
I’ve lived there and I would rather ride with these guys than with a licensed Kenyan Taxi.
I went to Uganda last year, and it’s so nice to be transported on one of these! Recommended!
KEKEKEKEK ^__^ KAWAII!
Nigeria also has this sort of service.
My mom won’t let me ride one anywhere :P
Thumbs up for your mom, I’ve seen those nutcases during rushhour, I still can’t fathom why any of them survive just one day on the streets, considering the way they ‘drive’.
The Nigerian ‘Okada’ redefine the term “Reckless” :)
Haha, yeah xDD My mom always calls them Reckless.
They are though. I think they view themselves as giant SUV drivers rather than motocycles :P
cool story about not much really but i enjoyed it i also like the dutch language i am half dutch myself in terms of hertiage but speak none of it
this was awesome, especially liked the dutch narration .. non-english narration is awesome…
