PS. Have you ever heard of the Critical Mass movement? It’s of Californian origins but it spread to the bikers worldwide. They don’t expect any Trasportation Department official telling them what they can do and what they can’t. They just take up the streets by the hundreds or by the thousands. And when the cops show up to discipline the riding crowd the answer is:
“We aren’t blocking traffic, we ARE traffic!”

You obviously have a loose definition of Fatcats. I wouldn’t be calling the citizenry of NYC or America fatcats. The people who aren;t rich here live day to day and are poorer than most people in Europe. And have far worse health care to boot.

I was refering to western world, often meaning both Europe and USA. Being poor in those parts of the world, sadly, still is rich in lots of different places.

Taking a second look, I now see how underfed the girl from public transport is. The Dutch goverment should not only pay for a nice bikeride in summer but send relief aid as well.

I am atm building a Bike with a super charger on it. It will be a function 4-71 super charger that will run off the rear gearing driven via a chain. What will the super charger do? Nothing much it will just create the lovable and very noticeable and very distinct sound that a blower makes that high pitch whine, I am working our the rear wheel / gear rotation to spin the supercharger faster then the human can so it whines like crazy.

I was a delivery guy for Domino’s in New York and What I enjoyed the most was riding my bike,it’s truly a wonderful place to do that. something like that has been done in Reforma Ave in Mexico City as well. ; )… Enjoy it while it lasts!

This is such a good idea.
If this scheme was extended into the major cities of the world we could start to see CO2 levels reduce. It would be a good way of weaning people off cars too, a kind of gradual change to pedal power and public transportation.
It could be a way to draw the worst car polluters like America into the mix less painfully too.
There should be much more of this kind of thing IMO.
