Perhaps a little context is in order: here in New York City, where Rocketboom is based, every time it snows they interrupt my soap operas with special reports, where the anchors and weathermen act as if nuclear missles are inbound. The stores become over crowded and people trample each other for milk, eggs and bread.
Americans seems to exaggerate alot. That’s like a normal winter here in Sweden..

It’s actually the warmer weather melting ice caps slowing down the flow of the ocean which makes the water cool thus causing more precip. to be snow and ice more often then usual.

@Jaruslothran We’re having the extreme cold and all of the snow due this being an El Nino cycle. With climate change (global warming) there is about 4% more moisture in the air and during El Nino the jet stream shifts south over North America and brings arctic temperatures with it. Cold air that is more moist is gonna cause snow. Keep in mind that Vancouver is struggling with a heat wave during the Olympics this year yet I got 6 inches of snow in South Carolina. Temperatures are still rising.

What about the debunking of the Himilayan glacier melting rates forcast, and the fact that we are not only have world record summers, but world record snow falls. Anyone with a brain could say that global cooling is causing this record snow fall. Anyway with YOUR brain, that is.
Global warming just means an overall warming of the earth, which leads to changes in wind and ocean currents. it could very well get colder here. The key to this however is it is geting much hotter in the colder regions like greenland, and the glasers are melting at an alarming rate. CO2 is the only known cause of this and it is know that humans are the ones that added the CO2 to the atmosphere.
