I miss Joanne… I think you do to! ;) And that would only be natural, as she was one-of-a-kind. Caitlin’s a good start, and she’s great in some of her UTube videos. But she needs some polishing, and perhaps more life experience (IMHO). There’s a redhead on UT, spricket? that has a cute shtick, but I really don’t know how’d she fit with RBoom. I love Elly, but I’m not sure she really wants to do the camera thing as a weekly bit. Where’s AC? (just a joke!) — Anyway, best of luck, been a subscriber for many years.

Funny how you know all about my interests in the show. I am happy that the little brat won’t be doing RocketBoom as she really stunk and turned many people off of the viewing including myself. We need great people, not the D- stuff people like Catlin gave us who really love Rocketboom. Also, you know nothing about my emails unless you work for RocketBoom regardless of Andrew.

Glancing over the submissions I had a definite hunch about at least 23 of the 140 applicants as being Reps (bet on it!). I won’t reciprocate their tactics and I’ll keep for myself the blacklist. No witch hunt on RB, right?

I bet the problem is more centered around people sacrificing their own creative interpretations in order to perform someone elses. sxephil would probably do it if you offered him more than what you want to pay right now. I mean really, he gets 500,000 views on a bad episode. You guys could try and nab a really top rate host.

Yeah but I think he’s not a good fit. Rocketboom has all of that already. They need desk talent.. Not producer/writer talent. Some of these submissions, while talented, are a sure fire way to draft discontent. Rocketboom has everything but the desk talent right now, and there were many great host submissions from people that aren’t looking for mare than that right now, to host. I thought at least 6 of the entries were Rocketboom caliber, and around 10 would be a good choice, but bad fit.
I’m with Richard Tucci. He’s one of the hardest working, most personable, smartest people I know. And quite nice! I’ve worked with him a few times, and would work with him again in a heartbeat.
ELIZA BAYNE WILL OWN THIS PART. She is vibrant, funny, beautiful and experienced. She has tech cred, gamer cred and international cred. I can’t think of a better person for this job. Done looking.
Some really great candidates obviously but Eliza is my personal fave. She’s been doing this sort of thing for a while (EP, G4 etc) and just seems like a really good fit.
You need someone whos great on camera obviously but also a sense of humor, smart and someone the audience will really connect with.
Plus she does a mean Russion accent :-)

Anastasia Tubanos has my vote! I’ve worked with her, and I’ve got to say, she’s got more talent than you can shake a stick at. Reporter, host, desk anchor, interviewer… she’s everything Rocketboom could ever need!
If the world was a perfect place, the NYC anchor would be Caitlin and the West Coast chair would be filled by Peter Zottolo, pzottolo on yt. Both really funny, smart people with hella camera presence. Too bad they have both stopped making vids for us. They would be perfect for this gig. Just sayin’.

I liked Caitlin and would like to see her stay. I have visited her sites, she has many, and I don’t know where she finds any time to do anything else. But she’s cute, talented, and would be a big asset to Rocketboom.
I have viewed some submissions by Joanne-replacement-wanna-bees and I wish Andrew and crew best of luck in picking only two. I only looked at some of the females and liked the following: A.J. Parker, Eliza Bayne, Alison Rosen, Jessie Michaels, Mary Cseh, Natalia Dzyulllo, Chelsea CAnnell, Sandra O’Donnell, Ella Morton (not crazy about her tatoo), Mona Gillen, and Kristyn Burtt. Something in that order but not necessarily. I’m a guy so I didn’t view any of the male submissions. Would prefer to feast my eyes on a lovely lass instead.

I think it’s possible that the cretins who submit crude and crass comments on RB may have run off some of the good RB fans and, perhaps, Joanne and Caitlin as well, regardless of what the “official” story is. Who wants to read and put up with the nonsense of dimwits?
I’d like to see a method where immature jerks can be knocked off the comments section or at least booted into a holding tank for gibberish where other immature jerks can view humorless idiocy at their pleasure so that the rest of us can read intelligent comments of others and leave our comments on the story(ies) presented on RB and/or positive criticism to the host.
Something to consider.
I just submitted a mild question to HitView asking why they won’t agree to Caitlin hosting Rocketboom. If we RBers smothered HV with email, maybe … they would acquiesce to our requests, or consider her value as having increased and demand more money from RB for her, or get pissed (that’s “angry” for our non-American English-speakers) and slam the door permanently to RB’s open position.

@doubleU Regarding Hitviews, there is probably no need to try and convince them at this point, there is not currently a deal being considered anymore. I have been looking into ways that Caitlin could work with Rocketboom outside of Hitviews, but nobody wants to cause tension, so it’s not an easy thing to consider on anyone’s part.
Thanks again to everyone for speaking up about all of the applicants, I can’t believe how many amazing people have stepped forward for this!
YouTube Comments on Rocketboom Will Change:
BTW, @doubleU You are right on about the comments, and we even have some help from Sony moderating them. Considering that we have hundreds of videos that are commented on every day, keeping up with the comments on ALL of the videos is a very full time job, seriously.
But the feature we will be switching around soon, one we have discussed before but are ready to put in place, is a separation between the on-site comments and the YouTube comments. The YT comments will all continue to be listed out on the same window just like they are now, however, all of the Rocketboom website comments will remain on top, and all of the YouTube comments will get their own section below the fold, with much tighter moderation against all of the donuts out there. This has been a long-coming feature (since the day we added YouTube comments), so you can expect this soon!

And honestly I feel she is the person that Rocketboom is looking for.

I have watched RocketBoom for a long time, in the beginning personality really didn’t matter that much. The writing did all the work. Now RocketBoom is doing more special shows that require interviewing skills and some kind of character. If you watch her red carpet video you will see Franchesca Ramsey is the best choice.

moving things to the Side. he is cleaning up OUR mess. he is the Great American success story; he worked there as a cashier for 52 years, before he met my grandmother and went on disability.
