Lots of other regions in Africa, even the poorer ones, always show smiling people. Not in Somalia.

It’s not the same as in the west. You don’t have social security; you don’t have anything. The only way you can secure your future when you get old and unable to care for yourself or work, is to have a lot of children that can work and later support you. Of course, with such a low life expectancy, the cycle restarts pretty quickly.

I’m not trying to sound insensitive but that lady has 8 kids and wants our help to survive? We have to make great sacrifices just to provide for our own kids here, and we only have about 2 or 3 of them. My Mom wore old clothes and Dad worked 3 jobs everyday just to provide for 3 of us. My youngest sister slept in my Moms room for a long time and my Dad had to sleep in the living room. I’m not happy those Somalis are suffering but what do they expect when they have 8 kids with no job or money.

The one thing people need to realise that the one family - 8 kids problem comes from 1 thing. lack of education. When aid groups help undeveloped countries in to developing countries, families CHOOSE to have less kids. Sending condoms won’t do a thing out there. Every kid out there is thought about before they were born.

1. Subsidise somalian farmers buy buying them equipment and everything they need

I am a Christian and my family taught me not to judge other’s beliefs or think mine is better than somebody else’s. My religion is good for me and it may not be good for the person next door.
