Let us not forget how far so much of the world has yet to go to get to the place so many of us take for granted.

I would think the act of burning the methane would deal with any odor issues just as the mercaptans added to natural gas are destroyed when you light the stove…? Is there a chemist in the house?

    Excellent report Rudd, thanks.
Well I’m gonna’ say it if nobody is…yesterday b-man was first, I was second & leron was third & when I looked later in the day there were 50 tubers comments ahead of ours. I thought they were being shifted to the bottom of the page?
btw b-man, I saw Bella & the Flecktones just last week when they played at our town theater (which was paid for by Richard Smart, ex thespian & owner of Parker Ranch) Future Man rocks!

Hey dudes & dudettes; I’m back! Almost 3 weeks of next-to-no connectivity sure does take its toll on a man in this day and age. I just got caught up on all the RB episodes I missed and sincerely hope, with her displayed driving skills, that Ellie didn’t drive back from LV!!

It was nice to have Ruud’s report balance out the CES extravagancies with another nation’s daily reality. Surely some form of basic education could be implemented to teach those people that “flying toilets” are NOT the way to go? Maybe toss the doody in the paper into a bucket outside for starters and then dump the bucket in a communal tank somewhere and let the methane energy guys tap into that as well? It would be interesting to find out who funds the building of the facilities.

Very interesting indeed. I’m glad there are still ways to recycle that kind of material. Hopefully they’ll implement this in other countries.

Turning feces into fuel would seem to be an obvious solution to two important problems. I don’t know why this isn’t done all over. If Kenya can afford to do it, other places can too.

I detect a subtle shift in the tenor of this board since the Tubies found their way to it.

I think I’m going to take a little break and see if things improve.
