i must detest to your previous statement. Every single country tells their citizens propaganda, its everywhere, and claiming that one tiny videoblogging site has the ability to spread brainwashing which is already being force fed to you beforehand is nothing short of ridiculous and idiotic. And it was a reporter showing what happens everyday for people to get to work. its no worse than traffic getting into new york at 5am. think before u speak

I would surmise from your reply that I’m not the one removed from the domain of sound thinking. Yours is a convoluted rant that irredeemibly and inchoately takes semantics beyond the realm of the surreal.

No, I’m an objector to nearly everything that RocketBoom interjects into the political conversation under the guise of objectivity. RocketBoom is a purveyor of specious propaganda. If I’m able to oppose it, I’ll take “silly.” RocketBoom refuses to examine both sides of the story objectively, period. I’ll continue to forcefully critique RocketBoom until RocketBoom is willing to adopt a doctrine of intellectual honesty. (I’ll take “pretentious” too.)

And of thinking before speaking, what is the value simply “showing what happens everyday for people to get to work”? I would think that RocketBoom could just point their cameras out their office windows to give us that ‘view.’

Wow! Here is the US we know so little about the suffering of the Palastinian people. We are also unaware that we in the US unknowingly support all this suffering. Our mainstream news and entertainment media keep this info away from us. There must be a way to support both Israel and Palestine in a fair and just way. Right now we are not doing that. Thanks RocketBoom for showing us this.

While I appreciated the video that Rocketboom posted about Iranian bloggers, I appreciate it more when Rocketboom stays away from politics. You guys do better with lighter fare about Internet memes and cool things on the web. Videos like this really play to your weaknesses, not your strengths. Leave politically charged and divisive topics to real news agencies.

I am disappointed by Rocketboom’s posting this. Without context and balance it is just inflammatory and uninformative. There are few conflicts in the world that present a black and white clarity and this conflict is certainly not one of them. I think a video presented like this irresponsibly provokes an emotional response that doesn’t motivate an understanding of the issues. I just feeds latent polarizations.

I thought this was fascinating. It reminded me in some ways (not all) of the chile pickers crossing the Rio Grande in the wee hours in West Texas. Only none of them could get a crossing permit. So they, um, improvised.

A nice piece to add to the puzzle. The endless, blood-soaked motherfucking puzzle.

Regardless of your attitude on whether Israel has a right to exist (I’m not sure myself), it seems childish to do rocket attacks and suicide bombings, and generally be against Israel in every way, and then wonder why there’s a wall. I wonder what the checkpoint to go into Jordan or Egypt to work is like? Does this exist? Why do they want to work in Israel, if Israel is so bad? Why not set up the factories in Palestine? I ask these questions because I genuinely do not know.

Well DUH. I’d want to kill the US and Israel too if I was living in a near-death impoverished state sponsored by a massive US bankroll and perpetrated by the Israeli occuptation. It’s very easy to find conviction and purpose in religious fundamentalist hatred when you are given no other options.

If you want to “start” to have an understanding of the complexity of this issue, watch the documentary “Occupation 101″.

Yes, you posted a video about a terrorist group. But this terrorism exists because of decades of suffering perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian populus. The Palestian puppet government is corrupt. Israel is in total, brutal control. Underground resistances will always be considered terrorist organizations by those they are resisting. It’s unfortunate that Hamas finds it easy to use religion energize their cause. But that’s nothing new– remember the Crusades?

Propaganda from any side of a conflict will ALWAYS be EASY to spread. No one will ever ‘force’ you to think about the truthfulness or validity of any information. That said, “Occupation 101″ is an invaluable wealth of information on this topic. I promise it’s appaulling enough to hold your attention and keep you from yawning.

But if you don’t have the intellectual fortitude to be “informed” on an issue, then it’s naive and arrogant to spread your opinion. When the information is removed from an “informed opinion”, it becomes ignorance. I hope you enjoy the documentary.

Israel, in the fight to protect its citizens, in only engaging and incapacitating enemy combatants, in deliberately minimizing collateral damage, is somehow morally culpable (and even more so), as opposed to terrorists who would wantonly kill non-belligerent men, women, and children, and who would use their own innocents as human shields? You have a particulary odious moral bankruptcy.

No, this does not explain the Middle East Conflict. But it is a puzzle piece in the picture which is called “There will be no peace in Middle East without justice for all people who are living there”.
What is shown in the film is far from the worst Palestinians have to endure in everyday life. But it shows clearly what measures like the “security wall” lead to. They do not stop terrorism, but they make life even harder for the people who are living there.
