I repeat rocketboom sucks balls
At least they are Cisco Adler’s balls.
Err…what? How can a news show on the net be…fake? Star wars kid does exist and has since 2002. Please elaborate, bro.
If this kid did this a few times each day he’d be in pretty good shape. Personally I like going to the local laser-tag center; wouldn’t hurt to start a starwars theme there.
I don’t see what was fake ?
Can a report be fake ?
I liked this !
ahhh that’d be one of the earliest memes i could remember… apart from dancing baby
o-o
awesome XD

2:09 FTW! :D
yay finaly a real meme :D
…Guess they will be taking you to court next…
Why are you watching, then?
Haha, awesome!
I remember seeing Star Wars kid on TV, once.
it’s sad that the voice is dubbed.. i would love to see that pretty girl talk for real:]
Mmmm, that is my voice.
Why do you think the voice is dubbed?
Damn Why did that kid have to be from Montreal? Montreal is like the Best part of Canada if it weren’t French.
this is one beautiful story,hungry.(*_*)

hahahahaha…
Duckroll
“I found him in 2005 and while I was intrigued with his style I had no idea he would one day become a Jedi Master,” said ObiWan.
I see no evidence of over-dubbing, I mean, there is a microphone and her lips clearly match up with the words. I just think the audio from the microphone is spliced together with the video in an odd way.
this was one of the earliest cases setting precedent that “teh internets is serious business”
Yay for star wars kid! They should have shown a few more clips of parodies. There are truck loads of good ones.
Finally, a meme I actually REMEMBER.

I repeat rocketboom sucks balls
too bad he cant sue because humans are seriously retarded without precedent. he had some pretty coool moves too.
I thought this was going to be Star Wars Girl… I had forgotten this even existed somehow.
Ellie, many things can be deduced by the way you wield your light saber, you gots rhythm girl!
There was a write-in campaign to get the kid a cameo in Episode 3, but George Lucas didn’t bite. That’s the 2,308th mistake he made while assembling that piece of crap.
Um, not to belabor an old point in a new year, but this board sucks now. I have to wade through a couple dozen tubers just to see what tyco and kam think. It is so much less fun.
Fear not my friend, for Drew has promised to list tubers comments @ the bottom of the page & place true RB’ers comments @ the top. Just when this will take place is uncertain but the sooner the better imo.
You know what though, with all this bru ha ha about the tubers & their immaturity, when you get right down to it, it really amounts to absolutely nothing & whatever I have to say will have no effect & will go unnoticed. BUT this used to be a very cool place with very cool people leaving very cool comments. It’s still my fav link & still has a few comment friends showing up teaching me things & that’s where it’s @ really, teaching, learning, communicating even contradicting. Do I get, or even feel any of that reading tubers comments? maybe one or two but they can’t see a response any of us here leave them unless we go to YT & post it. Just curious but if tubers comments show up here why can’t our comments show up there, that way I can tell some of the little pricks to bite me & they’ll actually see it.
Ah wtf, it’s too nice a day & the start of a new year, bring it on!
Here’s what I don’t get. If YTers don’t even see the comments here or come to this website, what’s the point of having their comments here? I don’t get it.
To me a comments section gives viewers a chance to participate and interact with each other, as has been the case in the past. I’ve been coming to RB for the comments as much as the shows themselves…and a few times a day, just to see what others have posted. Regulars have made it fun and interesting, even when we disagree on certain topics.
Again, I really don’t get it. The YTers don’t even know that their comments are here, and even if they did, they don’t care. YouTube is their turf, a place they hang out. And we “regulars” hang out here.
I really don’t care if they are on top or on bottom. The quality of their comments (98% of them) will have the effect of scaring off new viewers who come to the site. Because any intelligent person would not like to be associated with those YT comments. Had I just discovered Rocketboom a few weeks ago, I for one, would never leave a comment seeing what I see. Call me a snob. A b-snob.
Amen. A couple of those stupid little comments leave a bad taste in my mouth, regardless of the content they surround.
Think of all the fun we’re missing engaging in a paragraph-length debate on Gaza. (OK, maybe not.)
Hey, here’s a scenario: all of those YouTubers suddenly take the time to start coming to this site’s comic section here and amending/ameliorating his or her comments, or adding new ones, or worse, responding to one of the elder RB’er’s: now who owns this piece of real estate?
This topic of invasion by YouTubers upon this not-so-sacred turf is very much like the current theme of the RB Institute: Memes. Here is a quote from The Free On-line Dictionary of Computing:
And another from Wordnet:
So, in the spirit of Memes, the elder RB’er’s would thus be obliged to pass down to the newest members of the comic section (assuming that said newest members were to ever invade here in real time as opposed to simply having their comments transposed) some of the old ways. However, the resulting prevalent ‘way’ would become some combination of the old and new. Sort of like raising kids in the real world, sort of, kind of, yep; not so bad, really. Rename it the ‘Rocketboom Critical Blurt-out Commentary, Reflection, Interjection, Shared Exposition Utterance Column of 2009′, perhaps?
P.S.: Nice show elspethjane, and team!!!
A little DANGER anyone?

Prime spot for a B.A.S.E. jump! you snob.

there rest is on…where else..YouTube
ohh shes hawt!!
Jesus Ellie, you’ve been busy!
Keep it up at the “Institute.”
it is pwn, not pown
It would be a lot easier to feel some sympathy for the kid being made fun of if 1) it wasn’t so hilarious, and 2) he hadn’t bitched out and had his mom sue the other kids. What a pansy.
My man b, not yet but I’ve seen interviews w/Seth Rogen, I’ll check it out.
but I did see this!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077928/
well it doesn’t really matter that much anyway.. you’re doing a great job
Lol tragically, not only are his skills non-existant, even if he was using Darth maul’s double bladed lightsaber he would have sliced his own hands off. just look at the positions of his hands.
It’s too bad that the kid himself see this whole thing as a negative thing. I know when I watch the newer videos where people added the lasers or the parodies a movie….I see it as more funny than actually laughing at the him. It’s actually kind of cool.
Aw, you guys forgot to mention the Ned’s Declassified mention! Heck more than a mention, the whole episode was based off of it!!
FOR FORCE’S SHAKE!!! Are there actually so absorbed geeks that can notice that level of detail? I am impressed!
I’m still waiting for the “Know Your Meme: Milhouse” edition.
lol good idea.

That will never happen because milhouse is not a meme
It’s called “Sarcasm”, look it up some time.
I move away from the camera to CHARGE MY FRIGGIN LAZER!1!!
yeah … I think this exhausted all memes.. :D
Ellie just keeps getting hotter and hotter with every exclusive report. Thus, her tribute/shrine/homage page ( http://www.mywikibiz.com/Directory:Ellie_Rountree ) becomes more and more important to visit.
BUT WHERE’S THE SHOOP DA WOOP *cry*
I’ve always pronounced it meem, in the English language an E at the end of a word usually causes a letter, usually a voul in said word to be pronounced as it’s name rather than sound. For example, Hose, the E causes the O to be pronounced fully, I have spent over 9000 minutes studying, but I think it’s meem.
As for point 2, you’re right, a lot of these videos are not memes, they have got it slightly wrong. Although I wouldn’t say it needs to be false, just needs lotsa lulz
WHAT 9000?!
They didnt mention the parody of it in arrested development. boooo
In the English language, it is also spelled “vowel”.
I know I’ve done more embarrassing things when I was a kid.
More hot chick, less fat fuk - thanx =)
Gratz you pass +1 internetz
How about meme comes from the term “memetic” as in memetic memory. Like say taking your sunglasses off and letting them hang on your shirt neck. You weren’t the first, you saw someone else do it. Learning through mimickng basically. I always thought that was the chief way of learning, but there is also the explanation and repetition route for more complex issues. Does that sound logical?
