There’s hundreds of miles between me and Chinatown.
No way to bop down to Canal Street this afternoon, sample a favorite food or two, discover a new favorite food or two, buy a couple of bootleg DVDs and maybe a throwing weapon of some sort, and then just sip tea and lean against a wall for an hour and marvel at the variety of faces going by.
I think the parades used to be bigger, flashier. Maybe the recession, like fancy pageant waving, is universal.

We’are the EuroAsian-Chinese,… Afri-American-Chinese …. Latin-American-Chinese.. we are the inter-racial Chinese all over the USA..sice the 1950….Yes we are also chinese.
