Pretty noble. Where can we contribute on line? I’d Throw down a few bucks, if there was a link or something. Help a brother out.
That’s where I take my stand–at digifoto21. Maybe if enough of us care and spread the word, one by one by one we can take back our democracy.
That’s myspace.com/digifoto21
“Not available in your contry” ? WHY ?
Can you post a list of the films he is giving away.
i’ve created a small list based on what i saw in this coverage:
Sicko, No End in Sight, Zeitgeist, The Power of Nightmares, The Future of Food, Manufacturing Consent Info @imdb.com Download @archive.org, Outfoxed, 9/11 Press For Truth, An Inconvenient Truth, Taxi to the Dark Side,Why We Fight - War Sells, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, The Birth of Israel,A Crude Awakening - The Oild Crash, The Corporation @imdb.com @youtube
and i would add We Feed the World.
some links go to imdb, some to the official websites. those who were shared legally on the internet are linked directly to the movies. still you can find most of the others on goole video or elsewhere and there are many, many more on FreeDocumentaries.org

I greatly admire what this guy’s doing, but isn’t he violating copyright, and isn’t posting about his efforts ultimately going to draw attention to that by the relevant entertainment industry association(s)? I’d hate to see him slapped by the big business he’s so valiantly trying to expose.
YouTube says this video is not available in my country. What is going on? What did we do?
T_T
Richard, I dont think he is violating copyright because he is distributing those videos for free and only taking in donations. (someone correct me if i am wrong, or add to my point).
and i think rocketboom has freedom of the press to draw attention to whoever and whatever they want to draw attention to.
and yes posting his effort will ultimately draw attention of the relevant entertainment associations but even more so regular people will aware of his efforts and the education of the masses is more important.
Awesome video.
Joanne you come across in the videos as smart and adventurous… I know you weren’t in this one but I never had a strong enough reason to visit the site and make a comment before as this new video with Jerry.
I applaud what Jerry’s doing. And thank you rocketboom for covering intersting as well as important issues.

PS. Should you wish a trip to the UK, I would love to be your tour guide.
“The primary objective of copyright is not to reward the labor of authors, but ‘[t]o promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts.’ To this end, copyright assures authors the right to their original expression, but encourages others to build freely upon the ideas and information conveyed by a work. This result is neither unfair nor unfortunate. It is the means by which copyright advances the progress of science and art.”

I find it fascinating how far “truth-seekers” (for lack of a better term) are willing to go to pass this kind of information along to the masses. The problem is there are still too many people who do not want to be educated. Many people don’t even want to entertain the thought that the information they are receiving from their government and the mainstream media is a lie, or at the very least not completely accurate. Of course some of the theories are perhaps reaching a little too far into the “crazy jar”, and you don’t have to believe any of them, but that doesn’t mean you can ignore the obvious facts. Look at things currently happening in the world, strip the news down to the objective reality, listen to the opposing viewpoints and, for your own sake, think for yourself and make your own judgements. That’s what democracy used to be all about.

I was recently at a panel discussion about the sorry state of the newspaper business, in particular, the LA Times, and I was struck that they didn’t understand that people these days, especially young people, crave discussion and debate about the issues of the day. Where young people demonstrated, sometimes violently, in the ’60s, today they are more likely to start a blog.
My comment to the people at the LA Times was they had to offer immediacy and access. When I want the latest information on an event, I rarely go to the LA Times website and instead visit the Huffington Post or the local television station website. With their stable of opinion writers, they would be also well-served to have a comments section that was visited and responded to by those writers. One good example of this is The Washington Note with Steve Clemons. The information is often intellectual and well-researched, and Steve himself will often comment on posts that question his analysis. If he thinks he’s wrong, he’ll admit it. If not, he’ll defend his position. It seems to breed a spirited but courteous debate among the posters who are mainly from the left but a few are from the right and never get flamed or shouted down.
This guy is right on the money in trying to feed the appetite for information and engaging people in honest debates about the issues that affect each and every one of us. It’s nice to see.
So does anyone know how to get a list of all the movies that he has to offer, or how to get ahold of him, or does he have a site or anything.
