For you trivia fans: All the zero-grav scenes in the movie “Apollo 13″ were actually filmed in zero grav, using a set that slipped right inside the famous “Vomit Comet” airplane, which simulates weightlessness by dropping like a stone (on a certain parabola). There’s a reason it has that nickname, by the way.

and bout the biefeld brown effect. to put it simply it relies on ionising air molecules and using electrodes of opposing charges to obtain this temprorary flight. but this effect hasnt been possible in a sustained fashion. simply because freely created ions recombine and readily neutralise themselves in a short time.
