It´s not the world´s most efficient solar cell. Triple Junction solar cells get values above 40%. And they didn´t improve their cells, they just changed the testing conditions which gave the slightly higher number.
TZ is correct in clarifying that UNSW did not improve their cells, they only benefited from a recalibration of the international standard that give them a higher score.
Triple Junction cells have achieved higher values (up to 42.8%) but are in a different class based on compound semiconductors instead of silicon-based as those of UNSW. Compound semiconductor cells have been in use since 1959 when Explorer 6 was the first satellite to use solar arrays. Generally the higher the efficiency; the higher the cost to produce.

I see. We can create ways to vote from space. The Texas Lege has time for this, because they got all that other stuff worked out just fine. Back in ‘97, as I recall, they were working on their fifth or sixth effort to meet the state court’s standard for a decent school system. Nice they found the time.
According to gallup.com, 17 percent of us have voted already. They couldn’t have filed before they left?

Because people believe (probably because it’s what they’ve been told & never thought otherwise) that the only way to participate in the world & express their opinion and change the future is through democracy. They find it so important it becomes personal. They’ll scream at you if you challenge their democracy.
That’s my guess, anyway.
There’s other ways to change the future, & in the end it doesn’t take a lot of thought. Just action.
Remember: The only way you waste your vote is to vote.
