First.
You firster instead trying to be first … sit back and try and figure out what the mechanism is. Interesting - it *SMS anti-theft) would apply here in NA also wouldn’t it? Not on my 1982 Rabbit or bicycle but probably on new cars.
people are doing that now…
Highly intelligent kid right there.
no only you control your own car.
smart man
Finally, an anti-theft car device that actually does something besides give you a noise-filled headache and flashing lights.
Hey Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or $$$ome other savvy businessman, this guy needs and deserves a BIGTIME investor. Millions of cars are stolen in the US alone every year. I like the part where you can turn off the ignition. And actually track down your car.
Awesome!
Go kid, go!
If you really want to prevent car thefts, you have to find the root cause of crime itself.
You may be pretending to be deep, but honestly, the root cause of crime is need. Nothing more to it than that. They need something, whether it is the object that they are taking or the rush that they get when they steal, all they have is need.
stop being an idiot. Nobody needs to steal cars.
Most Excellent!!!
Most have to use a lap-top to monitor the vehicle’s condition.
I always wanted a longer “leash” on my ride.
Hope this hits Alaska soon for I WANT THIS!!!
No shit, it’s a very old reference.. You’re not smart because you know it’s a reference… It’s not like I’m actually proclaiming they really have tgers in Kenya.
Did you seriously say that with a straight face?
Now people will steal your car and your phone
How fantastic. I wish this young light-filled man all the luck in the world with his work.
I hope that guy patents it in the US, or sadly he’s going to miss out because of some tool in the US.
yes, but its proerbly going to not be too difficult to hack
poor kid where he lives the government will want atleast 60% of everything he makes before he makes it. He needs to get out of that place and go someplace where the government doesnt have their fat hands in peoples pockets so much.
good luck to ya, lad. hope he makes a million from this.
HEY! I posted a nice comment on this yesterday afternoon/evening and now IT’S GONE!! What gives RB?
He’s BATMAN…on a much smaller scale!
Such a system has been available for boats for many years. See http://www.baatalarm.no/en/en/accessories.html Perhaps the innovation here is lower cost.
Thinking about it, it certainly is a fine idea but:
1. If it’s easy to install, it will be just as easy to remove.
2. As per my comment above, (It won’t work on my 1982 Rabbit
or bicycles) it will probably work on Autos made within
the last 10-15 years.
My (1) above would go away if the device was mounted internally
to the automotive computer unit - i.e. made part of the auto’s
“computer” unit. I suspect that would take manufacturer’s participation.
Great invention. You have a contact number for this guy? I’d love to buy that. This kid deserves a big break, he is a true inventor. Especially in today’s world when everybody is trying to cash in someone else’s ideas. He has an ideology and a great product. Great job you Rocketboom guys finding the subject for the report.
yeah you retard. you are trying to say people NEED to steal? And that anyone NEEDS a car? NObody fucking needs a car. Last time I checked people were doing fine before cars were ever invented.
Thus is his cheek the map of days outworn. ~Shakespeare

Plenty of people NEED cars. Just because you must live in a place where public trans is key or live in a place that uses carriages, doesn’t mean that everybody else does. People were doing fine before cars because the society was built for their trans, not having a car right now is a terrible prospect to anybody who doesn’t live in places like New York, LA, London, or DC. Does it look like that city had adaquate public trans? It is unfortunate, but people need things they don’t have.
you are retarded. Your original comment was that people need to steal cars. That’s not true. Stop being a dumbass.
mmmmm……boobs.
Please pardon my ignorance. I know that Ruud Elmendorp is Dutch. In his fabulous reports, is he speaking Dutch or Afrikaans?
He is speaking dutch, Ron. Although they speak a variation of dutch in south-africa, this is just holland-dutch.
BTW doesn’t anybody mind that he speaks dutch and your reading subtitles? I always thought English people would not accept it and skip these “dutch” rocketbooms…
Where did I say that people need cars in my first comment? I never said specifically that people need to steal cars. People steal to satisfy some sort of need. You may call it bullshit all you want, but people steal for need, and in a lot of places nowadays, people need adaquate transportation. Stop ignoring the fact that some people that cannot afford a car desperately NEED one.
“Stop ignoring the fact that some people that cannot afford a car desperately NEED one.”
They don’t. They just steal them to sell them for money.
Reminds me of the lady who used to host Mobuzz.
good idea. I hope he gots his buck… which could be in this area in microsoft ranges.
