The thing was only supposed to last 6 months or something to begin with, I think it had a pretty good run.

In the event of a loose rhino: the entire population of Japan is invited to come stay at my apartment. Please provide at least at least one weeks notice prior to the event. See what a kind hearted, nice guy I am!

I understand she was acting, and for comic effect, but still, it was distressing to see Joanne cry.

Phew! I managed to stop the player just before the CC Rodriguez clip. No relationship by the way.

The rhino drill reminds me of the spill drills they used to carry out on oil platforms. Three engineers with Totes over their loafers would go out in a rowboat and extend a little sponge-covered boom to “contain the spill.” Up on the deck, guys who had seen actual spills would damn near wet themselves laughing.

There was a guy some years back who legally changed his name to “Trout Fishing in America.” Robert Siegel interviewed him on NPR and he turned out to be some half-bright dork who hadn’t even read the book. He thought it was, like, a cool name. Personally I have always thought “The Abortion” was Richard Brautigan’s best.

‘The George W. Bush Sewage Plant’… I’d of voted for that in less time than it takes for a major turd to flush down to the septic tank, like, for sure, Cali.

    1. When I heard the news last night, a tremor of sadness enveloped me. What a great loss. Mitch Mitchell was such a phenomenal drummer. The Jimi Hendrix Experience, my favorite group of all time is no more. I think I’ll go listen to Electric Ladyland their ultimate masterpiece. Who says true “magic” doesn’t exist.

…And so castles made of san, slip into the sea, eventually…

NASA builds good stuff…Cassini, Spirit, Opportunity, and Phoenix have all operated far longer than their designed lifetimes! (Especially those rovers!)

In space news today: Hubble snapped the first visible-light photos of an extrasolar planet, Fomalhaut b, a 3-jovian-mass gas giant that’s shepherding a dust ring.
