Well SenselessBabble congrats on your 3 seconds of fame. You now have at least 12 seconds to look forward to. But I don’t think you were the only one in the audience - why why why - is this our very own MIA Joanne?

Mmmm … nope, me thinks not! Nice try though. Maybe we should start a “Can you spot Joanne” website, make it viral, and get people all around the world to help track her down!

Spotting Joanne. I guess what I really hope is that Joanne is not leaving like Amanda before her (see my Lifemottos page about Rocketboom. I will hesitate before I talk about my theory about the change in females at the tender age of 25.

And I’m not talking just about Amanda C, Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears but they are all females who at 25 lost their appeal and moved on beyond their fame. I see this also in normal nonfame females (males too?).

A -2 rating; some people - really. They did lose their appeal, but based on character, as they jumped from 1 shiny opportunity to another thinking they were furthering their careers but without really looking it over or thinking longer term. Actually no one really does that anymore so I guess, yes, this applies to guys too. Everybody is after those elusive 15 MINUTES but now it seems that it is attempted by combining multiple 15 SECOND snipits because we are all in a rush to do whatever it is we are doing.

Gee can I count that as “fame” . I have never had an ‘-2′ but I’m sure I can get many more female negatives. I am not talking about loss of appeal … I have seen old women with sex appeal and certainly under 30s doesn’t lose it at 25.

My statement about 25 yo females is a gross generalization and I usually get stomped on (by females) when I say it.
I came to this train of thought when I was in a single dating mode with 20-somethings (I was 27-32) and it was plenty of fun (This was in Amsterdam) and I was working long and hard and partying hard too. But I came realize when all the 20-somethings were leaving the scene (getting married for example) at around 25. WTF? OK it’s easy to make the statement and it’s certainly not true with my daughters or wives. And I start thinking - who has gone past the 25 barrier and stayed constant - uhmmm Pete Seeger, Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan … uh oh where are the females? Patti Smith, Ellen Degeneres, Jazz Female singers, Diane Arbus … hey the list goes on and on. I imagine I’d have to document it a little better. It’s quite presumptuous of me to state “my theory”.

And WTF I deserve those negative ticks!

            1. You’re absolutely right, Mike.

->Once a woman hits 25, it’s all down hill from there.

-Especially for the ones in big cities. They turn into predators and start to grow fangs and claws and stuff; their vocabulary gets crushed down into one word by all the shwerewolf hormones coursing through their veins every full moon (that word is “money”, btw), they start to hunt down men worse than even Cougars, whose attack is at least survivable. There are bankrupt corpses everywhere! Seriously; watch out, man!

And in the words of ?Ted Nugent? and the LOLCats: If You’re Not Pissing At Least -A Few- People Off, Ur Doin it Rong!

  5. Hey Mike~

Well, when I was at ROFLcon, I saw Andrew and lots of other members of the Rocketboom team, but I didnt see Joanne. (I didnt want to be the type of jerk to walk up to any of the Rocketboomers and ask “So, Where’s Joanne?”, though secretly, I really did want to see her there, I’ll admit it!) But, I dont think that’s her in the photo. I did a lot of people watching while there, and I didn’t see her, and I dont think I would have missed her in the opening crowd. Though, I’ll admit, I could be wrong!

Well I wasn’t sure but I am still not convinced it was not Joanne …her appearance was less than a second. Now why was there an audience pan? I do that frequently in my photos to focus on a individual in a crowd.

Back to fame - Warhol’s 15 seconds holds true. I myself have had probably more than my share (who’s counting?) but I ain’t complaining.

We always wanna bash celebrities because we’re jealous :S yet when I see people that simply adores and infatuates over a person…makes me wonder how easy it is to affect peoples thinking through the media.

the musical composition I sent you so I too can bask in the limelight for 15 minutes? (hint, hint)

Hey everyone, PAY ATTENTION! Drew said a couple days ago that Joanne couldn’t make it to ROFLcon & Warhol said “15 minutes of fame” not 15 seconds, although that’s about all you deserve mikey & yes, tomorrow is Casual Friday.

Kam - you get at least 2 stars. Yeah you are right. Warhol said 15 minutes of fame … no wonder why I was confused about my exceeding 15 seconds. I did miss Drew’s comment. And for me as a normal, 15 minutes is quite a fair and equitable amount.
