IRAQ has too many contractors making a lot of US money at war? Wow. Private military contractors could be dangerous because they don’t have conviction if their only objective is to profit. This is frightening.
I have no problem with private companies making a profit. However, looks like the real problem is not enough troops in our current force structure. If we had more active duty forces and robust reserves the need for outsourcing responsibilities would be eliminated. Between conflicts there is a cost to keeping active duty forces at the ready. The reserves are supposed to serve the role of filling in the additional forces in times of greater need. There is a role for private companies, especially in specialized services, but seems to have gotten out of hand overall I think.

Thanks a lot Rocketboom. I took your advice last night: I could not get to sleep (due, perhaps, to a raging American-rooted conflict inside my mind) so I looked in the yellow pages and contracted with the Acme Sheep Services of The Greater Naugatuck Valley, with sister offices in both Iraq and South Hackensack, New Jersey.
The franchise owner, Mr. Stephen O. Shepherd (SOS, apparently for short) finally came by my cottage with his small flock of wooly horned ruminant mammals nearly 20 minutes past my usual bedtime.
I’d like to share with you and your viewers the breakdown of the invoice that they left me which I discovered this morning downstairs taped to the drip coffee maker:
1)dispatch fee, 2)address hard-to-find additional fee, 3)bed located on 2nd floor herd climbing prod fee, 4)twenty seven cycles charge {the herd had to pass by me 27 times before I finally conked out}, 5)restart fee {I lost count at one point and requested to start again from the beginning}, 6)sheep poop removal fee {Holy sheep-shit, man [sorry, couldn't resist]}, 7)billing fee for extra fees added to invoice, 8)Union up-charge, as this was a Union flock earning Union wages, 9)fuel and trailer-hitch transportation surcharge for getting them here and back, and 10)wool and poly-blend sleeping cap with extended tassel for my head. Total bill: $66,745.32!
That’s a lot for a good night’s rest, I think. And, my neighbors are complaining to me about a lingering gamey smell, too. But, because I have a family member who served in the army (my late father was a sergeant in his younger days) they gave me a one dollar discount good toward my next purchase.

I’m an American born and raised in Irvine, California but this country is starting to drive me nuts! When are enough people going to come to the point when we should over through our own government stated in the Declaration of Independence! It states that “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.
