It’s clearly sad that he’s living in a tent … but the report doesn’t say why … (or did I miss it?)
Also, just curious, why don’t you check the subtitles for grammatical errors before broadcasting the reports?

Is it because of some sort of racial hatred? The way he said other people didn’t want him back, the blood on certain walls seemed like a warning to certain people of the population.

I can’t get over the fact that the people who are now running HIS shop basically stole his life’s work and he can’t claim it back. :(

What sad timing. I just came back from running errands and passed a small apartment building that had a slew of washers and dryers tossed outside waiting for scrap metal pickup. A neighbour of mine said they were simply updating the machines. Supposedly most worked fine.

Of course we all know getting even 1 of these units over to John is totally out of the question. Never mind the fact he got run out of town and lost his shop so even if he had a machine he’d be no further ahead.

Even if all us kind and generous RBers pitched in and miraculously got this 1 guy what he needs to start up again, who’s to say his plight wouldn’t start all over again in a day, or a week , or a month? Or ’someone’ steals his new equipment? Is our help futile? Do we just say “riveting episode again Ruud” and carry on with our somewhat ‘better’ lives? Ruud is doing his part acting as these people’s voice and sending out their message. Do the rest of us have a part in this play or are we simply spectators?

    1. Long time, no C-C! Where you been hiding?

Enormous amounts of aid have been given to the African nations. The real tragedy of Africa is that the corrupt governments keep their people poor and hungry. And no matter how much we help, they’ll still be poor and hungry.

A Kenya-based economist begins to see the way out of Africa’s self-reinforcing tragedy:

Joanne you look ridiculous. Breasts out, heavy makeup. You used to have such an earthy look.

Looks like there is nobody in here except us kids Kathy! Just a wee bit harsh in your slam of Joanne don’t ya think? Ridiculous? Hmmm… Frazzled, in need of a comb or brush - yes. The makeup - Ok, slightly more than we are use to. Boobies out - where?! Just my luck - I missed them! But “ridiculous”?

They are probably shooting a bunch of shows back to back and she is skipping from 1 blouse to another or she’s in from a late night out on the town sipping those seaweed slurpies. OR she is just a little under the weather OR any number of other reasons to numerous to mention.

The great thing about forums like this is we can all in chime in with our various opinions without getting shot and you did just that. I’m chiming back saying I don’t think she looks ridiculous. That would require a big red bulbous nose, a thick layer of foundation, an orange wig and, well you get the idea!

Why? There is so much shit in this world, so many horrible things, is it really that good to dwell on them?

Start walking from your home and in a few hours you can end up in a place similar, in your own third country (for me at least, I’m serious and I live in the USA)

  10. I really like that shirt! Reminds me of grade school, the wacky things my teachers would wear to keep up from falling asleep. :D (don’t know what kathy is talking about)

As for the serious stuff, C-C is on point. There’s got to be something we can do. Maybe?

I wonder why she didn’t mention palestine, I mean if she wanted to talk about dramatically sad news, what’s a better example than the palestinians..? don’t think they even have the right to go back to their homes, yet again, most of them may have been already razed to the ground…and some of them have been razed to the ground with people still in them. That’s it, I’ll do myself a favor and stop here, it’s so sad though
