  3. It’s pretty amazing that we don’t hear about the situation in Kenya more often in mainstream media. I wonder why that is. Regardless, I’m glad that you are covering it, and thanks to Ruud for dedicating himself to this.

    1. Mainstream media does not care as there are other things to cover and it is not a sweeps period. If the US side events were down and it were a sweeps week they would probably be covering this, if only for the sweeps, to garner fearful soccer mom ratings.

NPR has covered the Kenya crisis many times as had BBC but stateside no conservative news outlet seems to care. One news outlet did report that the major grocery chain in Kenya lost about 20 million USD in sales because of the election disruption. What is appalling about this is the fact that the disruption is the cause in the lack of sales. Perhaps the lack of sales comes from other elements - as we know from these reports and from NPR. The cause seems to be that inflation is far too high, that there is a huge gap in the rich and the poor, no middle class, that people continue to die in this conflict and that no one is intervening.

I’m glad that someone is covering it even though coverage is sporadic. I suppose it is good to have some “heavy” news along with some lighter news. Joanne and crew can be some much fun and it really helps especially considering this is a dreary winter (here in the Midwest).

Sorry to keep nagging, but is it me, or is the HD-video just crawling in for *all* viewers? Within four minutes I now have 1/4 of the file down. This is on a 16MBit line, everything else coming in all zippy.

Here I sit in my comfy chair shaking my head in sympathy. Then in ten minutes time I will go grab a snack from my fridge, and forget all about what I have just seen. Sad really.

Great video. Thanks for the coverage, and props to YouTube for featuring it.

A helpful criticism though, I feel like a lot of younger people may not look past the narrators accent, since he sounds just like Dr. Evil from the Austin Power’s series. Maybe an alternate version with out the dutch accent would be more marketable.

More marketable? Yeah perhaps an american accent would of made a better version on the dvd, 4.99 at a petrol station, sorry, gas station. I guess nothing is more off-putting then a foreign accent especially one which has been stereotyped in the mooovies. Great job comparing a comedy, a marketable comedy, to a honest tragedy.
