I really don’t see the point of these YT comments here. There’s no exchange of dialog which is what made the comments section interesting. The banter and virtual camaraderie. This is non existent amongst YouTubers.
YT vernacular, discourse, lingo or whatever you want to call it is a meme all unto itself. Drew, there are just so many WTFs * LOLs and infantile prattle one can sift thru. Actually, I’m finding it extremely annoying. I was in kindergarten once, I have no desire to revisit it.
Let’s just say the demographics of those who watch RB on YT differ dramatically from those who typically come to the website. The Mothership if you will. Captain Picard would never stand for such triteness. There seems to be a numbers game going on here, perhaps for financial reasons. (?) I won’t get into it, but as I mentioned once before, quality comments will continue to raise RBs equity. Childish comments won’t. Comments are part of a site’s content. YT has its own YouTube Speak. And that’s where it belongs.

Its great that people from various age groups like watching and feel compelled to comment. Have you ever watched any Hanna Montana? I was *shocked* when I watched an episode recently, but instead of rejecting it, I accepted it, because thats what kids like. I don’t mean to say its not messed up, but it’s good to understand what people of different generations are into and how they respond.
Though granted b-man, no one leaves as good of comments as you! ;) I still think the best resolve may be to separate the comments so the site comments are on top and the YT comments are below. This is not a matter of Christmas spirit Drew! We are serious here. What we’ve been talking about for the past weeks is why we, original, loyal fans of RB, have to read those YT comments at all. Top or bottom, who gives a crap, they don’t say anything pertinent or worth responding to & if one did they wouldn’t see it on RB.

I meant to comment on Friday’s but no looking back . I don’t appreciate the YTers either but putting them separate has got to be “separate but equal” which I thought we eliminated years ago. Our little group is pretty insular and finite. What y’all don’t like is the strains of reality that the YTers bring. And that is because a good 90% of our (my) life is chaff. So the YTers here just reflect reality … I guess we will have to get off our Ivory towers. But then again we can comment freely amongst the noise.
Fast forward a few days and they (YTers) are still here. I will share an image I’ve carried for quite a while that is a cinematic portrayal of the YTers and of much more from my perspective. It was from a 1977 movie called Padre Pardone by Paolo Taviani and Vittorio Taviani. (I had thought it was by Bertolucci but google proves otherwise).
