Actually, credit is usually given to Steve Garfield who declared “the year of the videoblog” on Jan 1st, 2004. Rocketboom started that October.
But our own Kenyatta Cheese was doing videoblog-style publishing as early as 2001! So if you ask me the Wikipedia ‘videoblog’ entry is due some updating.

you’re right on everything but evolution. evolution ain’t changed dick since our species left africa. it takes millions of years to evolve. the natural lifespan of a human has been the same, biologically, since anatomically modern homo sapiens debuted on the savannah a couple 10’s of thousands of years ago. we’ve just had things killing a lot of people off early in life for most of our history. the stuff we’re trying to fix, like how you said.
