Thanks! - Great Vid. I was at ROFLcon, and had the opportunity to talk with Jay. Honestly one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. — You can tell that all the negativity that was sent his way at first, when he first hit big online (”look at the fat geek!” and worse), you can tell that those comments had hurt him at the time. And he mentioned this in his panel, he didn’t hide it. BUT, when meeting him, you can also see how he over came all of that crap and became all the more stronger for it, and how today, all of that stuff seems to just bounce off of him. — And because of this resilience, because of his “fuck it, this is who I am and how I am, deal with it world” attitude, because of this, this is why the world (or at least the crowd at ROFLcon) loved him so! Thanks Jay for being there, you made ROFLcon all the more amazing to me! - Senseless Babble

I’m not sure if I was an adult when Tron came out.
Then again, I’m not sure I’m an adult now.
I do know that I spent approximately $84,000 playing the video game in my student union. A co-dependent enabler and I spent a lot of hours doing so that should have been devoted to more serious pursuits, like studying and drinking. We were especially into blasting the spiders, which were truly creepy.
The two of us finally put enough quarters aside to go see the movie one night, and were bitterly disappointed. The movie, as I remember it, simply sucked.
Being enamored of Tron seems to me to be on par with being enamored of that Robin Williams movie where he’s driving a motor home.
I guess I admire Jay’s attitude. I just wish he’d latched onto something a little more worthy. Count Chocula, say.

I agree with truepaths, I would love to see a ramake of tron.
But also a remake of the video game would be cool. I love classics but I could imagine how cool tron would be with next generation graphics.

Im just glad we live in a world that allows everyone to be themself without persicution. Jay Maynard has the freedom to be the tron guy if he wishes. As long as it harms not himself or others.
This was smart marketing, his blog gets lots of comments unlike most other peoples. Dude has some fame, plus probably gets lots of computer work.
