Scientists find corals flourishing on Bikini Atoll

SOME corals are again flourishing on Bikini Atoll, the Pacific site of the largest American atom bomb ever exploded, but other species have disappeared.
A team of international scientists, including Australians, recently dived on the atoll, more than half a century after the stunning blast, to examine its marine life.
Zoe Richards from Queensland’s James Cook University, along with other scientists from Germany, Italy, Hawaii and the Marshall Islands, said the team had dived into the vast Bravo Crater left by the 1954 atom bomb.

This year is also the 50th anniversary of Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station being a ‘NASA’ asset.

1. It has not been built yet, but many of these structures have been built on land by the same group that will be building the Waterford Habitat. Their website is monolithic.com.
2. Once built, it will likely be submerged near Lee Stocking Island.
3. An umbilical will be used to pump fresh air in from the surface.
4. I suppose he’ll have to live off of pizza and chinese food delivery (30 minutes or it’s free, right?).
5. Perhaps the mold will be an alternative food source.
6. The windows will be made from acrylic.
7. Any one that’s interested in owning a place with an ocean view can be a sponsor, but most likely it will be paid for by research and marine conservation organizations.
