Wow! All that without a script! Old TJ also answered the question directly, relevant to today’s position, and without mentioning any of our ‘new technology’ and still nailed it.

        Way cool!

On the other hand he showed no curiosity as to Jacob’s strange attire or that shiny doodad aimed at him with the blinking red light by the cameraman!

A fine for not voting – now there is an idea to reconsider. But imagine what could happen if the other 70%, forced to get out and vote, just randomly chose any candidate on the ballot simply to avoid the fine? Hmmm…

    oh brother,
low voter turnout is a sign of satisfaction with the government – the more a government fucks up, the more people show up to the polls to try and fix things. That’s why there was a much higher turnout for, say, bush v. kerry than clinton v. dole

Yet again, more people vote for American Idol than during an election. Instead of saying low voter turnout is due to political apathy you’re saying it’s satisfaction, but logically, if you’re satisfied with government you’d want to do anything to protect that?

Man, major kudos to that Thomas-whats-his-son! That man is a true scholar. I take issue with his statement that voting should be required… but we REALLY do need more than rule by the minority! See where that’s gotten us…

Great episode! I”m sending this link to everyone I email in the next week…
