  2. Oh my! I remember my first internet experience! I went to TY.COM and got to see all the Beanie Babies and was absolutely AMAZED!!! I called everyone over to look at the site! This was 1997-98 and Beanies were all the rage. We were spending hours going from store to store and on the phone calling around to see what the latest release was and who had it. Now we had an unbelievable resource with this instant info, and message boards telling who had what and where!! I will never forget that excitement the first time I logged on to the internet and found that site!! Those were the days! :)

  3. Today\’s episode was nice enough but the music was a bit intrusive. Tech note: quicktime didn\’t seem to work today for some reason (glad you have youtube as a ready alternative).

How appropriate you should talk about the internet today, when I just published a new goofy site if you like taking pictures & drink @ Starbucks you might find it fun. Spread the word!

  6. Is there any particular reason why I’m not able to download the individual episodes of Rocketboom anymore?

  11. Hail to the web.

    The mighty, mighty wide web.

In the future world the web will be much more powerful.

    No keystrokes. No clicks.

You’ll simply come home with the usual shakes and clammy hands and cold sweat. You’ll kick your shoes off and run straight for the computer chair. Nothing else in the house will matter just yet until you do this, because your anticipation has been escalating all day.

You’ll jump into that chair salivating heavily; place both arms on the side-rests; smack the power button, and BAM! Out come straps which automatically belt you in; a blind fold wraps around your eyes from a compartment behind you; a clean towel descends from somewhere above to sop your sweat; and then, and then; then comes the needle. Pop. Right into your arm from somewhere below the chair, intravenously. All this in just a few instants.

That initial injection happens and your shakes stop. The cold sweat subsides. A euphoric calm takes hold. You sigh deeply as the images start to flow in. There is no monitor any more: everything now projects onto the inside of your skull, planetarium-style. You won’t move a muscle (the physical in-activity of the web experience is now maximum). Your thoughts will control the html. The algorithm of the computer chair weighs your most pressing desire and interest divided by your inquisitiveness quotient times your indecisiveness index factor and calls up the appropriate web page for your mind to view, in several dimensions upon your inner skull’s surface, of course. The sound emanates from everywhere infallibly and unambiguously.

The baud rate will be so incredibly fast that only the stronger will be able to surf the net. The elderly, the weak, and the very young will risk injury, possibly their lives surfing the web of tomorrow–they simply won’t be able to keep up: confusion will overtake and befall.

    End of story.

The most important piece of information I got today was from an old-fashioned newspaper (you know–black smudgy ink; pages that turn, et cetera): “The Euro is today at an all-time record high against the U.S. dollar”.

I thought to myself how anyone taking a two week vacation to Europe right now must be MAD.

Cool Photo Loading (Dang, your computer is slow)!

I have the same problem as pimp daddy: I can\’t download the quicktime-version of the video… Watching the video in browser is no option, as the video is hopelessly blurred…

Downlaoding the video via an external downloadmanager works, but is not very confortable…

I hope you\’re able to fix that (as I really like rocketboom)

    greetings SirMammut
