It\’s amazing, given the life he has led, that all he has lost is one eye.

You know, a lot of people go to those things just because they want to see a luminous dragon crash.

Most of those seemed international in scope. How about some good old American championships like: the National Road Kill BBQ Championship held at the one and only Redneck Championships?!

    1. I just found this one accidentally C-C:

Oklahoma Anglers Unlimited (OAU) announced today that it would be hosting the OAU State Championship, Presented by Carr &Carr, October 20-21 on Lake Eufaula.

This year’s event will be expanded over last years to include a live auction on site for the public on a range of fishing and outdoors products.

The dates as stated will be Oct 20-21, 2007 on Oklahoma’s Lake Eufaula.

Launch and weigh-in location will be Nichols Point facility in Eufaula Cove.

OAU Events Section - Tournaments Links to: OAU Events Section Registration link for Pay Pal or Printable PDF Entry Form.

The event will be a 90% payback to the field. Plans call for keeping that same weekend each year so everyone can plan for it. A portion of any proceeds from the event will be placed into the OAU endowment fund to help fund projects of interest to Oklahoma anglers.

  4. Beatboxing should definitely be in the sports pages; then maybe I’d read it.

Monday? what the heck happened to Monday.
I vote for the sport of WIFE CARRYING! As the name suggests, you lug a spouse over a rugged 250-metre course, with the fastest time winning. To ensure fairness, there is a minimum wifely weight of 49 kilograms. (108 pounds) (that leaves out most wives!)
Wikipedia says “the sport originated as a joke in Finland, supposedly reminiscent of a past in which men courted women by running to their village, picking them up, and carrying them off”.
Clearly this atavistic pursuit struck a chord, as there is now a North American championship along with the annual world championship in Finland.
Noted carriers include Dennis Rodman, who “borrowed” a wife for the 2005 world titles. (he couldn’t hump Carmen Electra’s fat ass @ 145lbs.) Prizes are generous, with the champion receiving the wife’s weight in beer, and, intriguingly, “a bag full of wifecarrying products”.

Monday ep was up for all of … oh, +/-15 minutes! Worth checking out though if you like Maker-Faire stuff!

And right after running the wife carrying race I propose we follow up with the Beer Olympics including such fun events as the Keg Toss and Beer-Handed Arm Wrestling. I can candidly say right here and now that my wife would not be too keen on the wife carrying event, UNLESS we do the Beer Olympics first! Then she most likely won\’t even remember having taken part; no picture-taking OK?
