Ron Paul participates because he’s cool, new-media-savvy and hope for America. Edwards participates because he’s desperate.

  2. I’d like to see if this brings about actual discussion, rather than typical political speeches. I have hopes that it will since it’s an opt-in thing for them.

  3. First off, I WANT THEIR LAPTOP COMPUTERS!!!

    How about these questions?

    As President:
What do you want to accomplish?
What is the most important thing you need to do? Oh, yeah, well do it then!
How will you best use your my time?
    As President ask yourself:
What am I trying to accomplish?
What can I cross off my TV watching list?
What can I do right now to take the next leap instead of the next step?
Who can I learn from today besides David Letterman & Jay Leno?
Who can I thank today besides B-man?
What am I grateful for? Yeah what, dammit!
How can I eliminate distractions like Monica interns at the white house?
    If elected President:
What are your top 3 current goals?
What is most important to you in life?
If an asteroid were to destroy Earth in a year from now, what would your priorities be?
    What are your major goals?
What action can will you take to show reverence for the planet and mankind?
Will you call Kam and ask him to photoshop you?
How many times will you make love a day? Will C-C film any of it?
How will you be kinder to Leron and will he become your Press Secretary?
Will you show compassion for kids who don’t believe in Santa Claus?
What will you do to release all the negative energy in the USA?
Will you ever get anger at you mother-in-law?
What kind of things will you do to make Drew happy?
Will you consider improving education and higher learning as it is the backbone of any progressive society?
What beneficial exercise routine will you implement? And will you wear Nikes or Reeboks?
Will you pass a law making 1+1=3?
Will you get sloshed everytime you have a presidential dinner?
How will you “pay it forward”?
How can you add Peace to the world today?
Will you promise to watch Rocketboom on a daily basis and base your foreign and domestic policies on the comments posted in the comments section?

    This has promise.

I have despaired over much talk I\’ve heard about the web \”opening up new channels\” between plain old voters and politicians. But this has a good mix of old-media clout, new-media user-driven selection and personality.

Plus they have a kick-ass host on their welcome video. Sitting in front of a map. Who thinks these things up?

We\’re a year away and I\’m already thinking seriously about taking an ax to my TV antenna and subsisting on DVDs for the duration. The mainstream media are behaving like a pack of 13-year-old girls hopped up on too many trips to Starbucks. Obama isn\’t saluting the flag. Hillary may have stiffed a waitress. Hillary laughs funny. Edwards is a girlie man. Are we really capable of no more in-depth analysis of issues that might actually affect our country?

And Jesus, don\’t even get me started on the GOP. Those guys are all vying to see who can promise to torture the most enemy combatants. Seen Huckabee\’s new ad? \”There\’s 20 million people streaming over the border stealing our jobs, and now Muslin loonies are slipping into their ranks and will be blowing up our toy stores, vote for me or die.\” Makes the LBJ \”daisy\” ad look like a PSA for cuddly puppies. Damn, that 28 percent of the electorate the GOP studs are all pandering after must be some messed-up folks.

So, anything that threatens to bring actual issues to the fore deserves a look.

    Good luck, guys.

Well that site seems not biased to the left…NOT! Why can’t we ever get a moderate view point. The problem with the government is the Left and the Right are destroying it!

You’re right– Obama is the same way. I think this elections (the primary specifically) will be the first to demonstrate the enormous role that the internet plays. The discrepancy between what typical polls are saying vs. online polls, social network stats, and youtube visits is immense and still completely underestimated. I think when Obama beats Hillary soundly, it will only be a real surprise to her, Bill, and the people with land-line phones and dial-up internet.

By Obama being the same way I mean new-media-savvy, of course. I’m sure he’ll be on board soon if not already.

  9. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, hmrphf?!? -Oh Joanne\’s back! :) -What\’d I miss?

    Here\’s my question:
When will there ever be a Viable 3rd party, so we\’re not locked into a decision matrix of lesser evils and opposite extremes?
    (answer: never.)

    Corollary to my question:
Why oh why for the sake of freakin\’ fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, did Aliens have to shoot out the ass of Ross Perot\’s daughter, just when it seemed like an actual 3rd party was possible?
    (answer: :( )

Hi, I wanted to ask whether the germany based project of the same kind was recognized in the States? It ran on the german news tickers some weeks before I saw press releases on 10Questions.

This german platform is based on the one, that is in use here in order to get in contact with the chancellor. Usually her press office will answer the questions then. They are posted in written form, but I don\’t see two much advantage of posting them via video, when the poster isn\’t that important but his question is. The important thing is the interactivity not the multimediality.
    Anyway, the german site is:
    http://www.direktzurkanzlerin.de/
where \”direkt zur\” means \”straight to\”. It\’s mainly an university project http://www.direktzu.de/company/about . And you can post questions, vote on them and get them answered. For the chancellor and for other politicians.
Every week three questions are chosen (by vote) and get answered. Making this a regular thing and not a one time show seems to me to be an even better idea.

    The english version is
    http://www.straight2thecandidates.com/
I don\’t know however how much traffic the site gets.

Unfortunately I don\’t know to whom all you can post questions. There are the candidates and there is
    http://www.straight2who.com/usa
but I don\’t know whether there also are pages for the current members of the senate and the house?

I\’d appreciate answers whether any of this was known to someone and whether anyone in the US has ever heard of the site.

    Thanks, Jack
