First thriller!
Great Job. It is definitely the best NYC Halloween video
I have ever seen and better than viewing it live. Great
editing with the music also.
I would really like to see this story. I even subscribe through Miro. But, if the HD link remains broken as it has today and the day before yesterday and about half the time since I changed to it from the SD options it will remain one big crap shoot! If you intend to provide HD format only when and if it suits you, at least have the honesty to let us know so we have choice about actually receiving the content. Customers who twist in the breeze don’t remain customers long.
Hi Moebius, we have been having a few redirect issues though just so you know, if you use one of our HD RSS feeds or use the direct download link, the HD file is always there and available. We have had an HD file for every episode for almost a year.
So just in case, you can also always infer the link:
http://www.rocketboom.com/video/rb_07_nov_01.mov
…is for today’s episode whereas (like, such as):
http://www.rocketboom.com/video/rb_07_nov_02.mov
…will be for Friday’s which is not up yet.
Hope this helps and thanks for your concern, much appreciated!
Hi Drew:
Thank you for the kindly reply. I really like Rocketboom as you can probably tell from the withdrawal symptoms. I just reread my original post and realize I was much more abrasive than I had intended. I apologize for that.
My real problem seems to be the HD feed only. As a matter of fact, the download link: http://www.rocketboom.com/video/rb_07_nov_01_hd.m4v is still not working even on your front page. It should not matter, but I am on Linux and I have tested this with both Firefox and Opera browsers with the same result.
I use Miro to manage my downloads since I subscribe to over 30 different video feeds, 8 of which are dailies. Since I am very unlikely to track down an errant feed gone bad at the end of the day with the HTPC cranked up and the projector running, a dependable HD feed is a priority for me to assure I will hear Joanne’s dulcet tones and see her in full HD. Thank you for caring enough to follow up with me on this.
did i see someone dressed as skullphone?
Oh, New York.
Why can’t Chicago do anything cool like that? Sigh.
That was GREAT! Terrific soundtrack/music, too!
Really lifted my spirits - EVEN made me consider the possibility of ‘getting out’ from my hermitage (me and my wife) and visiting another place… (no easy feat). - NYC on Halloween - Too cool!

A Klezmer Halloween party where people were mailed the dance steps weeks in advance while hoola hoops made a comeback and axe murders roamed free only to be outdone by cool-looking star war skeletons resurrected from priness leia’s boudoir and eeewww, that british flag with the mustache should’ve carried its own potty as the exlax was definitely kicking in and who visa-ed those afro rollers, man, they just made me wanna scream “Shaft” you motherfucker…and leonardo, what a treasure, finally used his time machine to visit the future carrying his new love interest at his side (bidding on eBay starts tomorrow)… those wacky artists are always surrounded by estrogen, even andy came back from the dead, but Edie Sedwig will never forgive you
Andy WhoreHall for screwing up her life…never…go wrap your blonde wig in some marilyn paper…
and did you see chicken cowboy run away from superman who was quite hungry, and when the “S” man
is hungry, watchout…everything else was a blur until this horny viking appeared out of nowhere
with his cousin, The Chinese Pirate…and was up with that fat britney hilton siamese thingy walking those two disgustingly ugly skinny bitches, and oh, the educated left, let me tell you about them, did you see how Vendetta-ish they tried to be, so cool, calm and collected, what a bunch of boors…
the head heart person was priceless, almost as good-looking as Kam- on-a-plate, but definitely
not as tasty…and yes, where would a Klezmer Halloween be without an iPhone..i mean what if there were an emergency like potty boy missing the pot…and those cirque du soleil rejects, what was up with that?
I expected the fat mailman to start rappin or stompin or somethin…saddest of all I was expecting to see joanne and the rb crew riding in a keystone cops car all-together singing “stayin alive, stayin alive”….ahhh…another Klezmer Halloween.
I know the city has changed. There’s a whole new breed of hip young folks. But it still jars me to see images like this.
Serious question for the current residents of Noo Yawk: Are there haunted houses there now at Halloween? When I was a kid we didn’t have them, ever. Because there were things jumping out at you the other 364 days of the year, and the spirit opf the fun was lost on us. And because for a remarkable percentage of the natives, the reflex was to hit anything that grabbed you.
My favorite was the Minneapolis airport toilet stalls.
Great video. That head-on-a-platter costume was incredible.
‘WILMA!’ is KILLING ME
LLOL to tears
PS I love the format.. Drew, did you shoot and cut this?

I miss New York. Austin, TX is nowhere this cool.
nicely done :)
I just finally edited my footage from last years NYC Halloween parade - its funny bc I also have the Barney guy in mine! Love it…
the fancy speeded up stuff kinda spoiled it.
good costumes. but thanks.
