  5. I was reminded of the Wicked Witch of the West. First the bicycle with a basket up front…as an image dancing across the background…So beautiful…I don’t know where I was going with this…

Cool, odd, interesting, weird, beautiful, magical, fantastic, yep, that about sums it up!
    My observations are:
Strictly a night time project, shame not many people up to see it.
Lotta trash to be picked up.
    Homeless people are interesting.
Very careful dismount from the bike.
    Like the music.
    Casual Friday, gotta love it!

  15. i\’m thinking one could use 12 volt marine batteries and an inverter instead of the generator, would have made it a lot stealthier. but fun nonetheless. eric : http://gardenfork.tv

  17. Nice, although from a practical standpoint I have some observations.

First, wouldn\’t it be more effective to go to a public square and show something on a wall, like Guerilla Drive-In people do? See here: http://www.guerilladrivein.org/

Second, I noticed that New Yorkers seemed oblivious. Perhaps a location in a suburb would be better? How about on a college campus?

Third, also about NYC, isn\’t there a risk of getting mugged with all that equipment on you?

      1. Sure, we may have had more people watching but then it wouldn’t have been nearly as fun. Although the GRL Mobile Broadcast Unit solves the practical problem of projecting while moving, the piece we did was just fun to shoot.

      2. When you do projects like this in NYC, you kinda expected people to act like they don’t care even though they really do. I do it myself when I’m walking by a film shoot — I’ll speed by like I don’t care and then I’ll sneak a peek to see what it is. It was funny watching most people walk past the projection like it was nothing, then look back to see what they missed.

      3. The streets of Manhattan are extremely safe for such a large city. Plus, Joanne barreling toward you on that thing is pretty intimidating. ;-)

This is one of those gems that I’ll be watching repeatedly (like the back through time one). Great idea and very nicely done.

Good stuff… might be an nice way of explaining the bridges in mirror/virtual worlds/avatars with real world… to folks on the streets. These creative pieces have been your best shows— (still in awe over the ‘walking backward’ piece…) —

I was impressed— and the GRL is awesome…

Fine piece of short filmaking. Had a kind of noir feel to it where you wondered when the dark surprise might come. Good conception, writing, editing, photography, music and acting. A full group effort. We could always use more of this creativity!!! When the spirit moves…
