    Nice musical Joanne-fest.

I am archiving it for a cloudy day.

I have to say I really don’t understand the finite space and infinite time thing.

Time is finite. By definition (also a finite) it is composed of beginnings and endings. That is why it doesn’t exist. By definition there are no beginnings and endings in infinity, eternity actually.

You claim infinity is just an idea and you propose a part finite (space-wise), part eternal Universe. (I can hear Einstein spinning in his grave. I don’t think anyone has separated the two yet. And where does a finite everything put the end of space and what is beyond that?)

By definition, that Universe doesn’t exist (beginnings and endings coupled with eternity). However it poses the interesting process you propose of a Universe unfolding in a partly repetitive, partly changed way. I believe in that.

Infinity doesn’t preclude such a process though. The initiative of infinity/eternity to define itself, and the correct rendering of that process, might even generate the illusion of time and finite space.

Or it may be that the process is the human experience. There we would extrapolate time and finite space from the eternal/infinite cycles of the Universe by which to order our unfolding experience among mind, body and spirit. It would be preferable to finding our mind, body, spirit experience to be an unfathomable chaos.

I think one equals the other and everything else at once.

Well, if you ever get to Eugene Oregon you can buy me one and I will attempt to explain myself. Or visa versa. (According to Esquire, my favorite establishment is also the best bar in Oregon.)

  7. Wow. I literally have a tear in my eye after viewing casual Friday just now.

I recently bought Final Cut Express to, among other reasons, enhance my YouTube posts which have all–up until now–been done with pip-squeak iMovie. However, I have yet to figure the darn program out (along with its Soundtrack and LiveType brethren). After watching this, and knowing what it takes to put that together, I am absolutely in awe. That was slamin’! Well done.

But first, I’d like to add that a) I hope that I got the overall big picture right, and b) that I did not cross any lines here:
