  1. Very cool.
I like the way people just passed by not noticing you were sitting on mail express boxes.

It is NYC, after all. Crazier stuff than that happens.

Fun casual Friday! Seemed like an expensive chair though.

    2. True, most people just went about their day and didn’t seem to notice me and my boxes. Only a couple of passers by seemed to do a double take. I noticed one person try to nonchalantly walk past and pretend they weren’t staring but I could tell they were really. Some people did comment on how handy having one’s own chair was. And then there was a group of a few people who seemed jealous and quite taken with my chair made out of postal boxes. In fact they seemed rather obsessed. They wanted it. And they wouldn’t take no for an answer. We had to edit out the part where I got into an ugly fight with these four people. They threw punches and took swipes and made quick karate chops through the air and lunged at the boxes as well as at my head. They were fast and mean and really quite talented when it came to combat. Blood was spilled and limbs were broken but that’s okay because in the end they did let me finish filming my story about a chair made out of postal boxes. I don’t think any New Yorkers were alarmed by the fight. Or if they were, at least no-one took advantage of the fisticuffs and tried to run off with my boxes while I fended off the karate chopping chair swiping head punching passers by.

Good thing you guys edit as mercilessly as you (apparently) street fight! Otherwise we would have had to sit through MORE boring new york street martial arts bloodbath action, YET AGAIN, on rocketboom.

And Andrew would have had to to write music for it. :)

What is up with Rocketboom on Tivo lately? It used to come up most every day. Now it only comes up every once in awhile. And even then it’s hit miss in other ways. Glitchy video or only a part of the video is sent. Or today. I get yesterday’s video and even though its 3 or 4 minutes long, the file loads up as being 8 minutes long (the extra time just comes up as a black screen). I like my rocketboom but what the hey is going on?

  6. This episode clearly shows that anything can be done if you just do it. (Even if it\’s as simple as building a chair out of paper boxes)

I must say that I think the sound was a bit clipped.

Also, it\’s strange how I always assumed that Twitter was spelled without an e. (\”Twittr\”) What has web 2.0 done to me?

It was written \’Twittr\’ at first but they added the \’e\’ a few months after launch. I can\’t find the link to that tidbit right now though.

Great show! Joanne always looks so innocent and natural when she goes on these outings!

Was there any interaction with the construction guy or the people on the bench or in line; either before, during or after the shoot? Just curious!

    Rock on!

Your house is flooding because an ox & a fish are clogging your toilet.
The above post is my visual way of informing msquare2 that “mimiced” needs a K

Love shows like this where I get to see a little of NY & its people.
Opening shot of the FedEx truck reflection was funny.
You mentioned the ship of Theseus, well this famous ship has only 17% of its original wood left.

  15. I loved the episode! The music really meshed well.

    Two thoughts….

    1. \”chairbox\”…isn\’t it better described as a \”boxchair\”?

    B. Instead of carrying it home, couldn\’t Joanne just mail it home instead? That would have been cool to see! LOL

Great job! Thanks for the smiles it put on my face. :-)

This calls for some very special music, actually this band that turned me on to jazz way back when I was hanging from a clotheslines with some clothes pins.

This band is \”Return To Forever\”

      2. I know Mose Allison and that song very well. Saw him live once or twice. My jazz tastes have changed since I first discovered Chick Corea, Al Di Meola, Stanley Clarke & Lenny White. \”Return To Forever\” helped me to transition from pure rock n roll to jazz, which opened up a whole new world of music. Hope the sneak preview I posted does the same for a few RBers who can\’t seem to get into Jazz.

Been watching since Joanne did her \’simulcast\’ with Katrin many moons ago. Unfortunately Katrin is on her farewell tour and ends her ES stint on June 16. The big debate is on who will take her place. Fortunately they chose Canada as her tour destination. Unfortunately they chose the other end of our mega sized country for her trip :(

So, Palm of Hand strokes the Ox who drinks Water, can we call you Ox-man for short, or stick with Kam?!

What a shame Katrin is leaving, how\’d you find that out, you speak German? I don\’t but watch the show anyway, they have great links. It\’s like when Joanne speaks French, I can\’t understand a word but who cares!
Gotta get to the frozen tundra one day.
I\’ll stick with Kam thanks, in fear of becoming an Ox-y-moron :)

Yup, I speak German too. They do have great links, some of which show up here soon after they air them, and vice versa. Katrin\’s future is a big mystery keeping fans glued to every episode for a clue.

The tundra isn\’t so frozen these days; it\’s 90F in the shade here today!
