  2. Looks like a glitch tonight. iTunes is taking turn downloading Tues and Wed episodes. I guess they overwrite each other then start again.
    Is it just me?

    1. nope - me too; iTunes registers them but just isn\’t downloading them for some reason. When you manually try it, it just squibs out.

Nearly missed field report week altogether!

Same problems downloading via iTunes here too. I just had to upgrade to 7.3 to fix a Runtime Error problem courtesy of Windoze\’s ill-conceived update patches, so I\’m wondering if that\’s the cause.

Rocketboom seems to be the only podcast doing this though.

Try clicking the [Refresh] button in iTunes. That should do the trick.

That didn\’t work. I also tried unsubscribing and resubscribing, clearing the download cache, ect. The problem seemed to clear itself by 7pm CST, either by Rocketboom or Apple.

I think Rocketboom should always appear at a specific time in the morning. An inconsistent haphazard appearance throughout the day and sometimes even the next day is frustrating. It’s like the late kid always wandering into class.

  4. I have had the same problem with iTunes. Refresh doesn\’t work for me.

What is the question that Richardson doesn\’t like? I can\’t understand the questioner.

  5. The questioner is asking Richardson about his involvement in \”Bohemian Grove,\” also known as the Bohemian Club. It\’s a fraternal club in California that has a lot of politically powerful members. They\’re believed to do a variety of rituals, including one where an effigy of some sort is burned. The questioner was asking Richardson about his involvement in this, which he kept describing as \”mock human sacrifice.\” As he continues to ask Richardson about it, you can also hear blogger Liza Sabater telling him to back off and stop asking questions that are unrelated to the debate.

If those are the questions bloggers are asking, no wonder they don’t get any respect and why Hilary Obama and Edwards avoid these talks.

      1. Don\’t kid yourselves guys, Bohemian Grove is where all the moneied elite gather in this country and I for one want to know more about what goes on there. I personally know some people who have gone and what little I could get out of them was enough to warent further scrutiny.

      2. Actually, I don\’t think they were bloggers. There were around 20 bloggers present, credentialed via the Media Bloggers Association, and none of us recognized them. They must have been there on regular press credentials. And like I said, it was bloggers like Liza Sabater who were challenging them for their behavior.

  11. Hey Drew & Crew, you know I\’m an avid RB follower and think some of your shows have been truly inspired, and even your weaker efforts are usually at least interesting.

But for some reason, your recent shows covering the American campaign process have been dismal, to be blunt. (I am thinking specifically of the episode examining the websites of Obama and Hillary, the banal and useless \’horse race/conventional wisdom\’ spot with the two white guys whose names I can\’t remember, and this current episode). Learned commentators like Neil Postmann and Bob Somerby rail against the ongoing \’trivialization of political discourse\’ in this country, and these episodes would definitely fall into the \”part of the problem\” category.

This current episode was pointless. Two of the Democrats\’ most progressive candidates get annoyed at some questions. The questions themselves (which are barely intelligible) are either stupid or substantive, but it would be impossible for the casual observer to know which from the episode itself. If the questions are stupid, then the candidates reacted with remarkable patience and grace. If they\’re substantive, then they\’re dodging issues that might be significant. Since we don\’t know anything about what they\’re being asked, we\’ve learned absolutely nothing.

Perhaps you were aiming for some angle which the MSM hadn\’t covered. Not having availed myself of that coverage, I don\’t know what that would include. The first part of this episode did have some parts to it that were sort of interesting: the set up of the debate, the assigned spaces for new media and others, etc. It might have been interesting to know more about the nuts and bolts of all that: who makes these decisions, who is paying for all of it and how, etc.

Anyway, it\’s going to be a loooooong campaign, so you\’ll have plenty of chances to get it right. We all know you have the talent to do so (one remembers the genius of \”ongoing investigation\” from a prior RB incarnation). It\’s just puzzling that it seems to be such a struggle for you at the moment.
