  1. This could be Part I of a multi-part series. Next, you could feature the Grand Central Terminal’s famous clock on top of the information booth.

  2. Wow… not exacatly packed with interesting content.
If you’re going to do an experiment in product placement thinly veiled as an episode, find an exciting or fun way to show off the product. Shooting Joanne in the darkest room in NYC with a cell phone may not have been the ideal way to demo the Nokia n93.

Although the subway performer was fantastic.

  5. It’s always good to remember where you came from. Nice to see that RB can still pull out a retro episode to remind everyone how it got its primitive start.

  8. Yes very dark episode. Had to shine a flashlight on my computer screen to see what was up. I agree that you should’ve thrown a huge $5 or $10 bill at the performer and…as Bhob suggested, a short interview with the trumpeter/vocalist/keyboard player would have offered an interesting human touch to the station. I’m sure he would have had many a story to tell.

Were you in a rush to catch a train…..?

  10. I think most European train stations look much nicer, with elaborate ironwork.

  11. Bonsoir,

the first images and the music, made me think of the
“Bladerunner” movie atmosphere, with the signature of its scenes always in the darkness, with large futuristic Gothic buildings in background.

Thanks for this “Normal life” show.

  13. That performer was terrific. I had to play this episode twice just to enjoy his music one more time. You should interview the guy. Perhaps it will help him get a job. :-)

  14. You guys are dicks for getting rid of Amanda Congdon.

And no amount of your lies will cover up the truth that Amanda speaks on her site!

  17. Cool show, The video was very interesting, I think it added to the show. It had an earthiness to it. And the performer in the background was very talented.
    Thank you Joanne.

  18. What song was the musician playing? I tried to look up the lyrics on the net but wasn’t able to link it to anything. Was it his own? Definately would like to hear a whole song by the guy. Who cares about some dots on the ceiling, the man’s a genius! Shut the &$^%@ up!

  21. I hope you got a release from the subway musician… now that you are shooting commercials for Nokia. RB is treading deep into a dark grey area by slipping paid (?) endorsements into your content.

Keep advertising/PR separate from content, please. If you are going to mix it, clairify what your relationship with Nokia is.

This makes the Jan 25th episode totally ironic.

  22. If you really just got the device from them, a mere hint that you shot with a Laplandian phone would have been more than enough. Mentioning the full name on your show should be worth 20,000 at least..;)
