wow
I don\’t think this was a first. As I recall, a congressperson appeared with an avatar in The Palace chat circa 1997. Wish I could remember which one.
There was also a White House virtual room set up on The Palace, with plans I think for Al Gore to participate, but it never happened (this was 1997 or 98).

I personally don\’t give a damn about Second Life other than that it\’s fascinating that people really do find it to be a second life. I\’ve actually wasted the time of downloading and watching these videos of \”important\” celebrities partaking in the farce of the century. Virtual reality is fake!(R)
Anyway, I loved Brian Eno\’s presentation in Second Life awhile back.
Sorry if you wasted your own money on your avatar, Joanne. I hope somebody else paid for it! Actually, I\’m sorry for anyone who wastes money for what is basically an online RPG without the G.
Cheers!
