Nice Hasselblad… and very nice photos he makes. Nevertheless, I do understand some people would find them hard to bear.

I like this guy, very creative concept. His unique artistic application gives the bears a very individual persona. Now they don\’t just look all the same.
His story of one speaking to him as he cut it open reminded me of a similar thing that happened to me.
In my teens, I worked for a florist delivering flowers. One day I had to place an arrangement of roses on an open casket in a mortuary \”slumber room\” (didn\’t they tell these folks they ain\’t waking up)
Nobody alive was in the room & soft, creepy organ music was playing as I walked up to the casket & laid the flowers on the box.
I turned to walk away & a voice said \”Wait, could you help me out\”
I froze…\”help you out\” but, but……it was only the organ player behind the curtain who needed help moving a bench.
The lighting in Joanne\’s opening shot was dark & yes, I\’d kill for Kents camera.

Those bears look like the anxiety that propels people to hug a Teddy.

He has found the uncommon reaction to the common experience (i.e. Teddy Bears), which is one of the things art strives to do. There’s a terrible beauty to his photos. I liked them.

I watch rocketboom on Tivo and your Thursday 8/23/2007 field report seems to lock up my Tivo. I can only get it to respond, by unplugging it and restarting it. It happens at the static screen at the end of the rewind of Kent\’s first try. Has anyone else reported this? It happens every time at the same spot. Have you guys figured out some sort of Tivo virus?
