A big building near me just planted their roof with grasses and such. One thing I had not thought of: It significantly cuts the heat radiated into the building. The temperature of the base soil was a good 20 degrees cooler than the air temp. Neat.
BTW, maybe some of the more film-oriented can enlighten me: Is the \”two folks on a couch\” establishing shot a creature of the web, or was it prevalent in earlier media?
I was doin’ this years ago bro!

What happened to your sponsors the past few days?

Breaking News: All Online Data Lost After Internet Crash

The earthpledge.org website is currently unavailable but I called the folks over there and was told they are working hard to get it back up and running. Don’t you just hate it when your site goes down! Grrrr for them! ;-)
In the meantime, for all your burning green roof questions, this site is pretty good

There\’s a simple explanation Joanne. I guess didn\’t you watch the \”Breaking News\” item I posted?
Speaking of green roofs, I spied this one in Santa Barbara last week…

I really love the idea of a green roof. Maybe if I build a new house…hmm…
today i think was a weee bit BORING!!
I’ve been following RB for a while now. I just thought I’d drop a note myself too. Man is this a GREEN clip. I think that it’s a good idea (the green roofs and such) but the voting… God forbid! Man, if people think that change has to happen do it yourselves. Don’t rely on Government. The politicians are mostly untrustworthy and government programs are a waste. More government, more paperwork, more taxes, more loss for us… more waste.
Rocketboom rock\’s! Rainbow colors too!
Rock on with the urban gardening. I have a tiny little urban outdoor space that I compost and garden in.
Ford has had what they call a “living roof” on their Rouge plant for a while now. http://www.thehenryford.org/rouge/livingroof.asp
Mainly to help control roof leakage. I found it a bit funny that they employ a full time beekeeper!
