  8. Question to Joanne. What came first, the grass or the grass seed? Everone knows you can’t have grass without grass seed and you can’t have grass seed without grass to create it?

I don’t know how to do the schematics on this but you would need to set up a separate circuit with a 9V battery (separate power supply and circuit so you do not have to recalibrate the meter. The new circuit is self sufficient) a 360K Ohm resister, a logic and-gate the output would go to the buzzer and back to the 9 volt battery.

One end of the resister would go to the 9v battery and the other end of the resister to the input of the and-gate. The other input of the and-gate would have a lead going to the meter (easiest to loosen the bolt already there and input the wire and tighten). When the analog meter gets input (power to indicate radiation) so does the second input of the and-gate and when they both are at an “on” state the buzzer would get power and sound. The circuit would end with a wire going back to the battery from the buzzer. (Most buzzers are prewired, no need to add wire). You would only need 4 items, pretty simple. Hope I win.

  10. The current account balance is not a measure of “how much money a country has.” When the balance is negative, it means there’s more money coming into the country in the form of foreign currency than domestic currency going out, as in the case of the US; when positive, it indicates that there’s more money going out in domestic currency that foreign currency coming in, as in the case of China.

There is no “real” measure of a nation’s wealth because a nation is not a person. It is an entity comprised of many persons and therefore wealth is distributed over this population. Generally speaking, right now, the US and UK economies are doing quite fine, despite the fact or quite possibly because of the fact that they have a lot of money coming in from other countries.

Moreover, since a negative current account balance represents a net investment by foreign nations, it indicates that these investors have an expectation of return on their investments. In other words, these other nations would not invest if they did not expect to profit from the US economy.

In sum, although there are different views on the consequences of a high current account balance, your presentation of its significance was completely wrong.

  14. Current balance account - an ( economic ) definition

    Source : http://economics.about.com/cs/economicsglossary/g/current_account.htm

The current account balance is the difference between a country’s savings and its investment. “[If the current account balance is] positive, it measures the portion of a country’s saving invested abroad; if negative, the portion of domestic investment financed by foreigners’ savings.”

The current account balance is defined by the sum of the value of imports of goods and services plus net returns on investments abroad, minus the value of exports of goods and services, where all these elements are measured in the domestic currency.

  15. Methinks the man was either pulling or playing with his his third leg too much over the years. Here are the true facts: the world has undergone an inter-dimensional shift and only those who were watching Rocketboom at the time survived. So if you are reading this, you are one of them. This new dimension may look, smell and feel the same as the old one, but watch out for entities who tend to blink way too often and say strange things repeatedly, as if on automatic pilot. Your beloveds are still here, but in fact they are only holographic representations conjured up by your mind, otherwise you’d go insane….or have a shit fit.

  24. The question is…when you are centered on the equator, the water falls straight down, if you are left or to the right of the equator, being a few feet away, either way, it will circle left or right. Within a matter of a few feet, why does that happen? I would love to know the answer.

  29. To merely report personal views on 9/11
    is, I think, rather irresponsible.

How could you not discuss the mountain
of evidence readily available that 9/11 was not
    done by terrorists?

    You could have spoken of:

    1. the media concealment of WTC 7’s
    clearly demolition-style collapse. WTC 7
was hit by no airplane, no falling building,
and its fires were very minimal.

    2. the fact that molten iron was found under
WTC 1, 2, and 7 which had the chemical composition
not of structural steel, but of thermate-melted
steel (which is used in demolitions)

    3. the fact that NORAD essentially stood down
on 9/11, which is highly unusual

    4. the fact that the WTC complex was shut down
on the weekend before 9/11, which was highly
unusual and offered the opportunity for planting
    explosives.

    5. the fact that Securacom, the company handling
WTC security (now called Stratatec) has on its
board none other than MARVIN BUSH,
    George W’s youngest brother.

    6. the fact that billions of dollars of gold
and silver went missing from the WTC site.

If you review the evidence, it is clear that 9/11
was an inside job. It’s no conspiracy theory,
    it’s a fact.

The two last episodes were completely boring! I am tired of this 9/11 stuff. I was in the US when it happened and the only conclusion I got to is that the US were collecting what they deserved for years and years of stupid foreign policies. So please move on to the interesting things that Rocketboom usually talks about… Thank you!

  32. Impossible question for Joanne — Thank God Someone will finally answer this. There were three people fleeing a nuclear holocaust and had to rent a car to go to Abilene, Texas. The rental agent rented them a $30.00 car so each person chipped in $10.00. Before they drove off the agent realized it was only a $25.00 car and sent the mechanic out to give them their change. The mechanic couldn’t figure out how to divide $5.00 between three people so he gave each person $1.00 back and kept $2.00 for himself. So each person received back $1.00 which means that they each paid $9.00 for the car. Three times $9.00 is $27.00 plus the $2.00 that the mechanic kept equals only $29.00. So my question is, Where did the extra dollar—-hello, what have I got in my pocket?
