  1. You forgot this one and it’s just in your neighbourhood. Maybe you can interview it for tomorrow’s show. Ask it if it has ever considered going to weight watchers?

  2. The Military Commissions Act of 2006, just passed, lets Bush or a henchman declare that any American is a terrorist or enemy combatant. It has been compared to Hitler’s 1933 Enabling Act because it gives Bush dictatorial power over Americans. It also lets him torture and kill anyone. If he wanted to round up all dissidents today, he could.

The evidence shows that Bush, Cheney, and perhaps 100 other criminals perpetrated the 9/11 attacks. Every day, more evidence shows that they did it, and that their the official 9/11 report, which promotes an unproven conspiracy theory about 19 hijackers and Al Quaeda is a fabrication.

  6. Wow! Nice costume Joanne. If you had a red cape you could be “Little Red Riding Hooker”.
    (I’m kidding…you looked great).

  8. I don’t want to mold the content of the shows that I watch. I want them to find and present content that will mold me.

I think that traditional media and online media already pander to their audiences too much. I’d like to see more content that challenges me, and less media that spends its time with one finger to the wind and one eye on a focus group.

I want to hear perceptive, individual voices. I’m not so impressed with the collective buzzing of the anonymous Internet hive.

Also, I volunteer to check Joanne’s back for a key.

  9. Excellent! This rocketboom episode lasted just long enough to let me eat my egg, ham & cheese taco.

    Keep up the good work!

    Oh yeah, audiences…
Well, I agree with Zack. And let me add that Rocketboom has acquired its audience by doing what it did. Changing that will definitely change the audience.

Keep innovating and providing quality content. Then, read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and ponder on the meaning of quality.

Quality (of content) should be your guide every day, not audiences.

    Damn, I’m feeling philosophical today!

  10. Rb should ask people to submit their own, original content, as it relates to whatever subject is being focused on, then feature the best of on a future episode.

You already do this. But you haven’t done it in a while.

  11. I think the audience should meditate for 30 minutes before leaving a comment. And another 10 minutes if you’ve found you’ve made a typo.

Why didn’t my link work? It was in yesterday’s news at the NY POST.

Go check it out! World’s largest pumpkin… hmmm, maybe it has reached the state of enlightenment.

  12. Okay I googled it and found the story on FOX. Guess NY Post was in a rush to remove it.

NEW YORK —  Commuters at Grand Central train station gaped Sunday at a 1,502-pound pumpkin on display, the world’s heaviest, according to organizers at the Manhattan transit hub.

  14. Editing - I actually like it when you edit for a faster pace. What’s up with slowing things down today? It’s Monday we probably need a “pick me up” not a “slow me down”.

Interactivity - Web 2.0 and web 3.0 are overrated. RB is plenty interactive as is. Relax Drew; just fine tune what ya got. No new interactivity features are needed. Providing great content that emotionally connects with us is the best way to provide that “social” feeling.

  19. Joanne & Co,

It is curious that we haven’t heard more about the Camp Falcon ammo dump explosion and alleged casualties. Follow the link to see video of some of the explosions, taken from a distance by US Marines:

    http://justanotherblowback.blogspot.com/2006/10/us-marines-vid-of-ammo-dump-tactical.html

I think the “tactical nuke” stuff is nonsense, but the video speaks for itself. Some of the explosions are spectacular.

    Keep up the good work!

Yipes … pretty cold Joanne… brrr … that’s a Halloween scare. I haven’t even heard the talking heads on television speak with such detachment. Better focus on your vision for this show a bit more.

  24. Drew and Joanne,

The halloween material was cute, timely and well done. Traditional RB material.

I am absolutely livid about Joanne pitching a BS line about 400+ soldiers/CIA/Iraqi’s killed without verifying…and what was her source, this new “reddit” website she’s pitching. Well, I read that Joanne was mugged by ZeFrank on Saturday. It must be true, I read it on the internet.

For the record, there was an ammo dump in Iraq that had multiple explosions. Fortunately, the casualties were much, much smaller than those touted on the web. As Leron pointed out, that many casualties from a single unit should be easy to verify; I predict that he won’t be able to report the story as being credible.

Finally, I loved Steve L’s “Little Red Riding Hooker” comment. Spot on.

  25. Leron,

Thanks for looking into this with an open mind. I just wish Drew and Joanne would have put in as much research as you will.

Please don’t be disappointed when you find that even the Soldiers who guard ammo dumps usually stay far enough away to avoid an accidental detonation. We may debate the politics of our senior leaders, but I trust the guys in the field know enough to keep large amounts of explosives away from the general public.
