Was that a real talking pumpkin? So cool. Charlie Brown was right! I’m heading to the punkin patch tonight. Somebody bring a flashlight.
Clever concept…but man was it slow!! A little more time spent creating the Q+A would have been worthwhile.
fun show .. .
one of the best casual fridays in awhile .. .
ARRRghhh!!!!! The bed-head look is back.
Entertaining concept; the kids did a fine job with the claymation but the interview did get a bit slow. Maybe if she would have addressed the pumpkin as “Ze”?

Packie, unless it’s my humor meter that’s off instead of yours, the pace was supposed to be slow and awkward.
That was funny that was really really one of the best shorts I have ever seen in my life and I am not just saying it because Joanne said my name last week and now I am totally crushed for life.
Sorry, but the outakes were funnier and more entertaining than today’s show.
“Time for a hair cut, don’t you think JoCo? Just a couple of inches (3-4 centimetres)” (Walter made me say that!)
Here’s a Pumpkin video that complements today’s theme
http://www.pumpkincircle.com/preview.html#movie
Thought it was really entertainig especially at the end when the pumpkin tries to pick up Joanne.
I’m being completely self serving here, but I have a special I produced that’s running on the DIY and HGTV Networks this week called “DIY To The Rescue, Katrina Rebuild” that I hope you’ll check out. Warning…It’s “old media”. But it’s good.
I usually don’t feel compelled to compliment or denegrate the RB crew… but I feel this episode is so good that I have to say something. I do it for necessity, because my fear is that the people who “don’t get” such wonderful humor are exactly the types to complain about it in comments… and that might lead RB to avoiding such brilliance in the future.
I’m tough to satisfy, but this did it… keep it up. Claymation rocks.
we loved it! so glad the cma teachers get to strut their funny and charming stuff along with the great students. can’t wait for the santa interview!
I wish I lived in NYC so that I could give you all a pumpkin cheesecake. Offbeat, quirky, and very original…in other words great! Thank you RB!
LOVE IT! I love it when young talents take an everyday object and create a life and personality for it!
brilliant.
loved every minute.
Rush Limbaugh has a tiny unit. Trust me. I know.
ahahahah that was great
I’m going to chime in with plaudits as well.
I thought that not only was it well done - and given the time issues at stake here VERY well done - but I was also impressed with Joanne and the way she sustainned the whole thing. She has a great range of expression and is able to sustain it without it beginnng to crack in any way.
You need time to appreciate subtlety like that.
I’m glad you went for it.
A classic.
awesome job cuz!!!! you are so talented, let me know if you ever need any extras ;)
i miss you! come home soon ian pian!
love ya babe!

curious how RB is funded. does anyone know?
I loved the “awkward” interview! Well done! Great idea! Funny script! Neat claymation! Really, you get to interview Santa?!
“Profanity can be funny?!?” Where did you people grow up? On the streets? You can express yourself without using God-dishonoring words!
Oh hey, check out my time lapse video of me gutting a pumpkin and gouging it with my hand drill.

Good one.
that was terrific !!! i really enjoyed it.
Well I thought it was good. Good job guys.
That is too classic! My sides still hurt :) Way to go, Ian & Joe.

Darling concept.
Lip sync could have been better.

Please do more animated segments.
this was awesome!!!! more stop mo!! more stop mo!! more stop mo!! I’m a dork.
Nice work! Joanne remains a dyanamite host, and Ian’s involvement brings a lot to the show. In fact, I’m glad to see you guys take advantage of the Children’s Museum gang putting their talents to work for the Boom.
Cheers
- Rob
i love it! tell the pumpkin to forget joanne; i’m available if he wants to go out!
Excellent work. To those who haven’t seen it, I say: you will believe a pumpkin can talk. And flirt.
Excellent show! Really loved it.
I really enjoy your clamation episodes and think that this was very original.Keep up the good works and I’ll be checking in on you regularly.
This is very exciting. I like it.
Ian, you devil clamation artist. If only you had shown your true talent in Latin class. The script was slow - I kept waiting for something more. Joanne gives the perfect awkward interview.Try a different vegetable next time.
Well: How would you interview a pumpkin that was hitting on you?
I found this very funny. Skits are where the fun is.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I loved it. Oliver sounds surprisingly like kermit the frog.
Keep up the good work Ian & friends!
xoxo
Bonsoir,
special dedication to Joanne ( The British one ;)

Good WE,
S.
Great episode. Wonderful work. Joanne, you are not terrible. You are lovely.
JESSE, stick with microducks. It seems to be more your speed. I think the rocket is booming a little bit over your head. Are you certain it isn’t you that’s lost your edge?
Joanne rules! She seems more approachable, likable, and not as nerdy as Amanda. this was a great episode… Joanne’s got skills, acting skills that is.
Joanne has MAD skills!
The pumpkin was alive for me. I feel his pain. It was a witty and revealing look at pumpkin life. Very fun to watch the “real life” interaction between two personalities.
yes, tomatoes good upper!!!!
you know John…..it’s exactly this mentality:
“Nor do we care about interviews with pumpkins….. ”
that is at the core of the pumpkin holocaust. Pumpkins have a voice and they must be heard!
And as far as THIS comment:
“No one cares if they use cell phones in Africa. Nor do we care about….”
Didn’t anyone teach you to speak for yourself? Who’s this “we” you speak of? Who gave YOU the authority to speak for me or anyone else for that matter. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, say whatever you want, but speak for yourself.
The word “I” might help.
For real fun watch Norm Augustinus carve his way into a giant snow globe in front of a Kmart.

Joanne is waaaaaaaaaay better than Amanda, not even a close comparison. I have no idea what John or some of the other naysayers are talking about? And RB is just as good as it has always been.
People’s expectations for a 3-4 minute show done 5 times a week is ridiculous. Obviously the comments are from people who have no idea the amount of time or creativity it takes to put togther a complete show.
Keep up the good work Drew!
Hi all,
you who think this was a slow piece, relax! Why does everything have to be fast? Because we have more stress now. And you know. Stress hurts. So what we need is less tress. And todays show was soooo funny, extremely good. I really felt symphaty for the poor turned down guy. How would you feel to be turned down by Joanne??? Miserable for sure!
I love rocketboom!

Joanne is not terrible. She is different. Maybe you miss all of the left of Lenin rhetoric. If you remember the “golden era of RB” had a lot of duds. Just go back and read the comments. Too bad there wasn’t someone to pine for as a prior host before Amanda. Otherwise I’m sure you’d all be making wise cracks about one’s skills against the other. I think it is a miracle that this comes off every day with the variety it offers. Remember what it was like before RB a few years ago? If you want to be snotty, that is OK, you amuse us with your absurdities. That is what the comment section is for. No harm done. But there are many of us out here who find Joanne charming and gifted in her own right. OK. Bye.
One of the best shows in a long time I think you all are doing a great job.
For the people who hated the show….relax. It’s just a free, online news show. Unclench before you burst a blood vessel.
Just dropped by to check out the comments and can’t believe people are still bickering over Amanda Vs. Joanne.
First, if you haven’t noticed they are 2 separate individuals. Separated at birth after a 10 hour operation. One was adopted by a pop singer living in England, the other moved to Conneticut and ended up in NYC.
Moral of the story:
If you don’t like the new host or RB 2.0
don’t watch. It’s that simple.
Too bad computers don’t have remote controls yet where you can flip from Bookmark to Bookmark (Steve Jobs if you’re reading this, I want royalties… you too Gates, you rip-off artist “Zune Zune”)
And another thing, everyone has their own tastes, especially when it comes to humor, so stop pontificating about how could you not like this or that episode.
We don’t all like chocalate ice cream, some like vanilla, others mary-jane kam (2 scoops please)
It’s sunday night, rained all weekend and it’s friggin cold and so yes, I’m in a pissy mood. So there’s my 2.5 cents.
One more Amanda Vs, Joanne comment and I’ll beat you with a pumpkin head, pumpkin head.
Great job!
Inventive and funny! Will play it for my two grandkids.
Babcia
f-n’ brilliant.
