  6. The folks that submitted did a fine job. I was saddened that the celebration of 500 episodes didn’t mention Amanda. She is a major reason why RB reached the recent milestone.

From the “Mr. Big” of the Bush junta (the most benovelent junta in history)- A most sincere and deserved Congratulations on your 500th Episode!

Now let’s straighten you folks about John Bolton. From today’s NY Post editorial:

    BOLTON CORRALS EL LOCO
October 19, 2006 — Those who said that John Bolton wouldn’t work out as U.S. ambassa dor to the United Nations because he’s too undiplomatic to be an effective diplomat just got another service of crow on which to munch.

Bolton this week neatly organized a majority coalition to block Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela from getting the Latin American seat on the Security Council.

A nation needs two-thirds of the 192-member General Assembly to win a two-year term on the council. After a near-record 22 rounds of voting Monday and Tuesday, U.S.-backed Guatemala ended with 102 votes, while Venezuela was way back with 77. Speculation grew that both countries will eventually withdraw in favor of a consensus candidate, such as Chile.

Make no mistake, though; the rejection of Venezuela is a victory for the United States - and for Bolton.

Chavez has been the bully on the regional block for years, capitalizing on Venezuela’s oil wealth. He’s been adopted by Cuba’s ailing Fidel Castro, and thus stands to step in as the region’s left-wing champion for the 21st Century.

A seat on the Security Council would give Chavez an international platform to spew his anti-American rhetoric - much as he used his address to the General Assembly last month to attack President Bush.

Thanks to Bolton, that likely won’t happen.

This reminds us that the Senate still needs to confirm the ambassador - and it needs to do so by the end of the year.

We can’t think of a better way to keep Turtle Bay honest

There you the guy you folks show out of context in that clip manages to stop a latin american thug from pushing the United States Around. Now let’s get the ad link out there again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h3GPc_yMCE

Mr. Moneybags AKA Fred- Again I want to thank you for your gratutious sponsorship of the David Zucker ad which the link is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h3GPc_yMCE I know this is very ad nauseum but hey when Fred-Frank, inc. is footing the bill you are in good hands.

The reason Fred em Frank why I am posting here and that is in life “you go where the sinners are.” Simple minded monolithic polyglot cosmopolite liberals such as yourself who may never consider that there is a world beyond the Hudson river should see what is going on. That is why I post here. You are case one that shows why liberalism is in decline. It can’t defend itself so therefore it has squelch dissent of it by giving us this ephumism of political correctness.

Now one other thing that I am wondering about: Why the name change to Frank? Did you want to have a sex change before you came up with that? I think Fred works because you have the money to bankroll me listing the Zucker ad but that’s just me.

Thank you so much Fred I mean Frank for your interest. I look forward to hearing from you again. Congrats to you guys at Rocketboom on your 500 episode.Too-da-loo….

  13. Steve L and Hartless –

Amanda has talent, and can be a very engaging comic actress. Still, her act tends toward the self-indulgent. I enjoyed her on RB, but three minutes a day was plenty.

She mugged with an abandon that would have embarrassed Jim Varney. She pandered to the lowest common denominator in her audience, plumbing the entertainment limits of swearing, drinking, and tight t-shirts. I once sent an episode of RB 1.0 to a friend of mine, who shot back, “Why did you want me to watch this annoying girl?”

In her post-RB life, Amanda has used “old media” to spin a self-serving version of her exit from the show that brought her to national celebrity.

If not for RB, Amanda would most likely still be just another talented, anonymous blonde actress looking for her big break.

  15. Congratulations again on RB 501!

I for one was very surprised by the low response rate to create a fun movie to celebrate RB 501. Yes, the last time there were at least 10 times as many entries to choose from. I just wonder why, considering the audience out there.

And yes, Amanda was a wonderful host. I’m surprised Walter Crespo didn’t comment back then. But as the song goes “Everything must Change, Nothing Stays The Same” Kudos to the work Amanda did and time moves on, so living in the present is where it’s at.

There’s a new team: meaning new legs, arms , faces, and brains. Okay, Drew was gonna have a sex change, but changed his mind at the very last minute to the relief of his parents and friends. Anyway high heels are tough on the lower back.

    Looking foward to RB 502

  16. Wow, 500. An amazingly, it’s only the beginning! :)

Congratulations. Very few people can appreciate the effort it akes to do a show like this every day. It’s an amazing accomplishment to create 500 shows in 2 years.

  17. That was funny, but would not be if you did not watch yesterday’s episode. I kinda agree with GUY though when he said “I love rocketboom, but the quality of this “show” has been getting stale. You huys need to do something new and exciting.” Something different, entertaining and funny like the shoe tieing or the racewalking episodes.

Tell them what to do, I believe there is a suggest-a-story link just for this purpose, so us viewers can help make it to our liking.

  19. Great episode! I love Rocketboom! Congrats on the 501…

I do have to agree with Fred/Frank - I think that it is very odd that RF just uses the RB comment section to yak on and on about random Republican propaganda that has nothing to do with the current episode. He admits it himself that he is just using the blog to forward his political agenda (see his above comment). Does he even watch the episodes?

FRED- To my distinguished fellow poster. I thank the gentleman for his comments. Now Bolton is valid you guys feautred him and were concerned that he wasn’t doing his job. The New York Post editorial shows he is doing what he needs to do.

However, you guys are fundamentally brain dead when it comes to understanding who your friends are politically. You guys do a great show about the tech world and informing us about it. I would not have known about Second life if it had not been for RB. It is an innovation all unto itself. But the guys that you support such as John Edwards support increasing the taxes on such people who are innovating in the tech world. More taxes means that there is a smaller profit margin and less incentive to create machines with more memory to run things like Second Life and less abiilty for the average person to buy them. But John Edwards thinks he and his ilk in Washington are smarter than you to spend YOUR money. Or Joanne: Think of it this way higher taxes ultimately means less hair spray and beauty products for you to get off that charming wink.

President Bush on the other hand (and the benovlent junta) believe YOU make better decisions with your own money. Republicans believe that the ad revenue that rocketboom takes in is best spent by the people who are inovating like you. So much so that we have inspired invovations that the tax cuts that Bush has inspired since he took office have increased the take in to the federal treasury by 40% and have made nearly ever economic indicator rise on the plus side.
So if you guys out there like seeing your computers get better faster and more technologically improved then you will vote conservative. But if you like money wasted in Washington rather than letting the tech sector innovate then you will vote for your Democratic friends.

Oh and by the way electing Republicans means you never have to watch a President say the following http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaNIBFSMjb8

To the perky Katie- What’s your agenda? Because I say something and you immediately sound so contrarian. That is so not necessary. (Resistance is futile! Just kidding!) That to me says you have an agenda as well. Are you going to honest about yours?

Now yes I do watch the episodes. I extended today a heartfelt and sincere congrats to the RB gang for 500 episodes. That would say that I did see the episode and would say that you might have had a mommentary functionally illiterate lapse there. It is ok. I also mentioned that I liked the Second life episode. But Bolton was mentioned this week and that is fair game. Thank you for your interest. As W.C. would say And that’s the way it is…

  22. I wouldn’t say a show on John Edwards, or more specifically, one episode on Elizabeth Edward’s book release, and one episode on the LRA, with an extra interview by JE, classifies RB as a supporter….or against for that matter.

It just means they are following the leads and covering what’s going down.

I’ve MET JE and he seemed to be a stand up guy. But that’s just my opinion based on a handshake and a vibe, not much research beyond that.

Oh DANG RF, look what you made me DO…I got all pulled into your crap.

RF - I agree with you right to comment, but at least be clever enough to make it topical.

BTW, have you been watching Amanda’s new blog?
