  4. CBGB joins the long line of closed NYC rock venues, among them Fillmore East, Electric Circus, and Peppermint Lounge. Take heart, the music goes round and round and it still comes out somewhere.

    Joanne-
Loved the Urban Cammo and the Vacumm Cleaners really loved the Second Life stuff on Friday and I would agree with you that Sanctions by themselves aren’t going to work but I think you guys need to see the ad again especially before you pull the lever for Hillary you should know what her bunch did: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h3GPc_yMCE
Bolton and co. at least will slap sanctions on North Korea where Hillary and Madeline Albright will give the Dear Leader a basketball to stop him from getting nukes. The choice is pretty clear.

  8. Sorry to see CBGB’s go. A real institution. However, most punk venues disapear without so much as a whimper…so at least there was time to say goodbye.

Great Stone Face, I’ve heard of all those clubs you mentioned but never had the good fortune to experience them. So it is sad, from an era…

    That video was hilarious!!!!

Hey, where are the other 349,925 posters who watch RB?

Also Joanne, in your Newsweek interview you stated ” I’m taking it a week at a time” referring to staying with Rocketboom.
So will you be here next week? Hey? Hey?

I’m glad I gave RB 2 a chance, you seem so comfortable now as its host it would be a shame to see you go. So when will you decide? And what are your other TV obligations you referred to?

And while I’m at it, I wouldn’t want RB to turn into a political
forum, as there are many, many more in-depth poltical blogs out there where things get hot n heavy.

I come here to be informed, moved and to have fun.

Again, let’s hear from some of the other 350,000 for a change. Where are you?

Nab: No need to worry at all. I am just too busy collecting that dollar per video view from Fred. Fred says he is going to pay me for each video view. Fred must be Mr. Moneybags around here. One more chance to get product placement in here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h3GPc_yMCE

  15. Who’s the tantruming nutcase who looks like Groucho Marx? God help us all if that anger management casualty gets hold of nuclear weapons…oh er, you mean he has? And he’s what…ambassador to the UN?

    We’re all doomed.

  16. Those weren’t ‘kids’ who hacked the voting machine. It’s a serious and well-organised group of hackers, technology professors and activists who are now engaged in talks with the responsible minister.

  17. 1. John Bolton is the same guy who threatened to beat up ballot-counters in Florida in 2000, and may have indeed assaulted one or more people.

    2. Electronic voting machines have only two purposes: to rig elections and hide the evidence.

  19. That snarky little piece about North Korea is enough of Joanne for me. The world may burn down around here, but at least she’s retained her self-righteous arrogance.

Katie- Sweetypea as PJ O’rourke once said “The real truth is government is boring” Well the fact of the matter is majority of the people that comment here are big time libs. I figure if I can pick off a few of them here and there we can save the American electorate from a return to the recaltraint foreign policy team of Madeline Albright who believes in giving evil dictators a basketball and the nuclear reactors to build the very bombs that are threatening us now. So if you have seen the ad Katie its campaign season you need to get to work and forward it on to your lib friends so here is the link again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h3GPc_yMCE
Remember the drinks are on Fred since he is paying me a dollar for each view of that video.

  22. Nice post. Keep it coming, RB.

Does anyone know where that Bolton-in-action clip came from? Sort of reminds me of the Chinese UN ambassador’s outburst from this summer. I’d like to see the rest.
