Joanne-
Why do you people keep featuring a Senator who isn’t even popular in his home state?
I want to recommend an alturnative video for this campaign season about Democrats for the Rocketboom community

Ya gotta know that there is no other media in the world that would be able to carry off a show with a mix like this! Great stuff!
I am one *small* voice, but PLEEZ don’t let this show go political! I need an escape from that. Its why I visit here every day (something new where I wont be called ignorant or an insensitive B*****). I’m good with telling important stories and asking questions, I just hope political preaching won’t build momentum here.
actually laughed at the add and got the point. well done.
Thank you for keeping politically important and often overlooked items in the front of our minds. Please also look at the American Jewish World Service web site for information on Darfur!!!! http://www.ajws.org
joanne good, recycle report was especially nice!
(^0^)/***** five stars
From second life to ringtone dancer …what’s next? I checked out the site and what a terrific environmental program.
What’s Joanne’s sidekick name?
Ruud’s reports are always very compelling. It’s a whole other world, over there !
Good advert. Well done. Have located my local drop-off point. Thanks for doing this.
I liked the part about Uganda, but the advertisement sequence was um…. um…. Don’t call us, we’ll call you!
Ringtone ad was funny in the weird-but-cute way but too long I think, guys. Interview with John Edwards was shot from a bad angle… they looked uncomfortably close to each other and Joanne just kept nodding or shaking head along with Mr. Edwards. Maybe more on his face next time. Uganda was great though. -Mano
I have to say that I do love Joanne Colan and when you folks talk about tech issues but you keep fawning over these Dems. Again I want you folks to see this before you decide to druel over John Edwards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h3GPc_yMCE
It’s good to bring in political debate. Politics should play a larger part in our lives.
But I really think we need to hear from alternatives other than D and R. Look at the real issues and you see very little diference between these two conservative parties.
A really great story today…thanks for continuing to show us news (and other stuff) we don’t get to see through mainstream media.
John Edwards seems to be a good friend of Rocketboom…and it’s good for him. Of all of the potential candidates in 2008 he’s definitely the most web/new media savvy. As for the comment about him not even being popular in his own state…that’s not surprising. Most southern Democrats wouldn’t win their own state in a national election. Senator Edwards does, however, have a strong presence in other key states, especially in the Midwest. And the Midwest is the new South, politically. Whoever can win the Midwest may very well win the presidency.
And one more thing…as for your ads…in this day and age…and with ads being everywhere…I must applaud you Rocketboomers for your approach to ads. At least you make a good effort to make them fun and interesting. You need to make a little money, so I can’t fault you for having ads (and I’m actually surprised you don’t have them more often)…but I thank you for integrating them so well into the “show.”
Mmm… an american senetor who’s bothered about what goes on in africa, totally refreshing.
Down here it seems like america couldnt give less of a damn about what goes on where there’s no oil. History’s shown that.
I really dig RB and think its so important to make people aware of whats happening in the rest of the world. Keep it up!
LOVE ring tone dancers. Great stuff!
Does Mr Edwards always look like he’s making up crap on the spot and trying to look sincere, or is it just in these RB clips?
I know it’s nice to start getting higher-profile guests, but don’t you have a blogworthiness test or something to vet story ideas?
Ruud’s report - definitely a piece worth podcasting.
this is more directed at an episode from a few days ago, but…joanne, it would be cool if you wore a shirt/hat/bikini top that says “click here” on the days that you have stories where clicking you leads to an extended version. okay, maybe the bikini top was wishful thinking. sorry about that. i should instead have said bikini bottom. oops. i did it again, didn’t i. i’m 0 for 2.
secondly, although i’m not watching the show from north korea, many people consider me to be as unreasonably stubborn, controlling, and totalitarian in how i think and act toward other people…does that count?
The Ringtone Rockette?
Rockette Boom?
I want a poster of Joanne in her red togs.

Just finished listening to her interview on BusinessWeek, it’s an awesome peek into Joanne off camera. Her blog is getting cobwebs ’cause she said she’s waiting for something fabulous to say [@14:38 she's asked about her blog]. That interview was fabulous, except for her audio quality, Skype is free, btw:), why didn’t you blog it?. Perhaps just a quick audio file on your blog every now and again, even if it’s about something not so fabulous?
Love the show, even with the new adverts.
Recycling is better than trashing.
I heard John “Backwards” Edwards say he’s talking about Uganda. Exactly what does he intend to do about that situation?
What about Somalian warlord atrocities? Who’s going to fix the Ethiopian famine? Who should feed starving North Koreans? Why aren’t the French doing more about the situation in the Ivory Coast? Someone should rescue the Gorrillas in the Congo.
Calgon, take us away! Wait, that was another commercial.
Love that idea to be able to click directly onto Joanne … wow…great thinking.
Change of outfits from elementary schoolteacher would be nice… bikini idea works for me .. but would settle for …more color … humorous … beside just in ad segments…
Regarding helping Africa, Somalia, etc., that’s all fine BUT … last time I checked, we had run-away problems in th e USA … Katrina clean-up, crime, healthcare issues … I really believe we should work a bit harder at cleaning up our own house …
There are serious problems in this country … and perhaps if we got a little more appreciation from others we could feel better about helping them …
However, the $5Billion the Clinton admin gave N. Korea didn’t really make us any new friends did it?
Nice thought. But lets get real. The least our beneficiaries could do is show (or just fake it) respect.
gotta run.

Marvelous show, just added it to my favorites on my Zen. Maybe I should add a link on my homepage?
Rumsfeld was on board with the company who sold them nuke technology, so there. My mantra of late is “it’s not a matter of right vs. left, it’s you/us vs. the State.” The neo-cons, how apropos, are setting the table for tyranny. Pay attention before it’s too late.
Great episode! Ruud is good. Love the Ringtone Dancer recycling ad. What a great way to tie in the ad campaign to RB. Just seems natural for JC and the RTD to give the message. Well done - clear message, fun, memorable - what all ads should be.
I love ring tone man! I hope that he continues to make cameos on RB.
