Great Show!!! I thought it would be not as good since it is a holiday but I was pleasantly surprised.
Leif Eriksen? That’s fine, but the Solutreans arrived 17,000 years ago from Spain by following the Atlantic ice sheet.
I don’t like shaving, but I do like short strokes that last about 1 second.
Isn’t Leif pronounced “Life”?
Shaving videos… what’s wrong with learning by trial and error and cutting your face to ribbons?
The name Leif is not pronounced like the word “leaf” but rather like the word “life” - a little research into pronunciation never hurt anyone (although that would be a cool way to go).
Joanne, as usual beautiful, articulate, and informative. In the ’story links’ under the video, it says st paul minneapolis,,… should be minnesota. No biggy. I liked how the show ended today.. just joanne staring at me…. I wish.
Great show. I’ve been shaving in the wrong direction all these years. I’m an “against the grainer”.
EEEEK a sword.
I liked the show, milk shot out my nose when the knitting lady’s delicate hands stroked the various yarns.
I have a friend named Leif, from Norway. He pronounces it “lAf” with a long “a”(…it rhymes with waif).
So I don’t know about all these “Leaf” and “Life” supporters.
Enjoyed the show today, BTW.
Whenever I shave with the grain, people say to me, “Didn’t you shave today?”
Mastah Joco, how were you able to answer that mind-boggling question without your long white beard?
A Mastah is never influenced by a shaving video unless it makes you velly itchy.
Om Shanti
i dug this show and props to the vikings :D
however, those “new” japanese inventions pictured are all in a book i have called “chindogu: unuseless japanese inventions” that was given to me nearly 10 years ago
Bonsoir,
Great show.
There is something new:
can be a certain serenity which still gives a greater dimension to the personality.

from where you are, they know who I am. ;)
Good show… and you’re right: there was never ‘nothing’. So the question: “what came before something?” is, as you said, nonsensical.
Great ending, too… I wan’t sure when you stopped moving, waiting to see!

I know Branson’s Garden of Eatin’! I have driven past the Garden of Eatin’! It is east of the Land of Nod motel, which reverses the Biblical geography.
I never took a chance on their chicken fried steak, though.

Bloody Vikings! Enough. The Chinese discovered America in 1421: http://tinyurl.com/pg3tm
A fine episode. Try viewing it in the dark with ‘the pearl’ by Harold Budd & Brian Eno playing in the background.
It’s rather peculiar to find that almost nobody understands that you can’t “discover” something if someone’s already found it. The Native Americans have been indigenous to North America for over ten millenia. Why everyone gives props to these white bastards I’ll never know. May I cast a hex in your general direction.
Discovery of North America:
- Indigeneous tribes did not record their arrival. If it’s not documented, it never happened.
- Leif “Leaf” Ericson landed in Newfoundland in 1066 A.D. much earlier than the Chinese of 1421 or Portugese on behalf of the Spanish in 1492.
- I undestand that others may dispute these facts; however, as I was taught by descendants of Leif and descendants of Native Americans in Northern Minnesota, I reserve the right to be most accurate.
Forget the Vikings, The Indians, The Chinese, Columbus…etc.
Everybody knows The Beatles Discovered America.

well … quite, er, endearing … not quite to enthralling, nor yet even engaging … but it had a certain wholesomeness about it …
in fact … with her hands folded on desk, map behind her and a discussion of Lucky Leif, JoCo seemed for a moment to be … my fourth grade teacher … such a kinder safer time … i could only hope that JoCo would pause for a moment and then say … could you answer that question, Bill? (snaps out of reverie)
But now on with the review … i only wish I could have handled that shaving segment and contemporized it to address 21st century shaving (i.e. girls gone wild) … and the yarn segment … what a “yarner” …
One great take away … I suddenly felt so much more complex and interesting after watching what absorbs others peoples attention …
I know … kitsch is the genre … but still…
Not surprised more women are gamers … they are QUITE active online, worldwide.
If women invented “over the fence” gossip … they have perfected “global info-sharing” …
I have had fascinating discussions with muslim women I might add … don’t judge a book by its burkha …
Well must go …
keep up the good work … and JoCo, keep that awesome, foxy smile in good repair …
Only you could have made all of that trivi-tedium interesting.
BTW … your logic on creation of the universe was interesting … showing once again the success of the British educational system in installing logic in each of its constituents …
God love you all
and GO Longhorns! (smashed OU)
