I did not understand the direction of the segment.
I did not find it all togehter news worthy.
If you didn’t watch the extra video where John Edwards speaks se of the preabout the LRA, you should. I found his wife’s speech interesting (though it might have helped if there was more intro about the book), but John’s speech was far more powerful because of the previous post from Ruud Elemdorp. It’s sobering to think of what those children are going through.

As other viewers have said, Rocket Boom is getting more and more boring. I kind of miss the older shows were we saw Joanne more. Hmm, looks like someone may have to “revise” his keynote address. I don’t think calling members of your audience will really make them feel as though they “belong”. I know I don’t feel that way anymore…

I thought Rocketboom was where you could say whatever you like …its all about diverse global audiences …
you can be serious, you can be irreverent … you can be a bit flirty (all except Walter) … but suddenly … we’re “trolls” if we don’t roll over and love the Edwardses.
I’m sincerely disappointed.

It reveals that Rocketboom DOES have an agenda … and that if you go against grain you must be among

FYI … GW Bush is the guy duly elected by the bulwark of freedom in this world. Feeling a sense of respect (if not loyalty)doesn’t seem out of place. And btw, nobody even mentioned him in here … they just thought it a bit political to have Edwards on tap.

Drew, If that realy was YOU that posted, then you are so far off base that I must admit that PR Bill’s post above has real merit. C’mon, you should be smart enough to know that ANY political figure that appears on RB is going to bring lightening from one direction or another. The laughable thing is what actually appeared on RB of Mrs. Edwards was void of politics. Sure this is the USA which means there are lunkheads AND valid pointmakers with the freedom to voice their views. And while the “trolls” may not run in your circle, by your calling them out as “Bush Supporters” you’ve effectively put on your speedo and jumped into pigs troth with them (sorry for that visual). Hey, you put it up there every day and see where it goes. Must be a little thin skinned today because I appreciate the wit of RB and I am sure you must be smart enough to know that you’ll get this reaction from what we all know is a currently fractured and polarized nation.

I heard about Rocketboom today on NPR. I never heard about this site before. The guy was boasting how great we are, how much money we are making.. yada yada yada. I got curious to watch what 300,000+ folks are watching..

I have never heard Elizabeth Edwards speak. She seems like a sincere lady. It’s nice to see a politician’s spouse that is a lovely, genuine person.

Frankly I don’t see what all the fuss is about. Yes Drew you can do anything you wanna DO… and so can we!
I had to go to Amazon to find out what this book was about. Having heard and spoken to many cancer survivors, many of them women, I have to agree with many of the posters that Ms. Edwards rambled on without any coherency and for someone who has just written a book …I find that rather strange.
And listening to Edwards pontificating about Uganda and the USA. What about the mighty useless UN? I watched 800,000 Tutus being slaughtered on the nightly news while UN troops in armoured vehicles stood by and scratched their asses. I remember turning off the TV each time in disgust. Anything “political” especially in the times we live in, will turn nasty. You should be smart enough to realize that by now.
Never heard you use the “troll” word before. Personally I hate it. There’s a big difference between being obnoxious and just stating an opinion, even if it’s just a grunt.

The less focused your speaker, the more important the sound quality. Forcing your viewers to suffer through a rambling talk recorded by a bookleg/home video will only happen once…maybe twice. I think this has been mentioned many times so far….
I know its late to add a post to yesterday’s ‘Boom, but just thought I’d tender a comment. Trolls or not, the discussion of today was for the most part not any more inflaming than usual when people in politics are presented. Everybody that has watched RB for awhile knows Drew’s political vent. Drew, I think that, for whatever reason you are being a little on the sensitive side. Yes, this is the internet and you can present whatever you want, but the comments section is much of the life and vigor of the show. RB is a great show, and some of the shows are good enough for several watchings. This wasn’t one of them. No big deal. The beauty is that we are here to add to the value of the presentation, and to keep Drew on his toes. What other media allows for that level of interactivity?
