First ? ;)
Hey Joanne,
Nice trick getting an interview out of David Blaine.
–Steve
WHY ARE AMANDA’S EPISODES MISSING FROM THE ARCHIVES?
I’d like to see if David Blane could survive jumping out of an airplane without a parachute.
No, wait. I’d like to see if David Blane could survive in space without a space suit.
No, wait. I’d like to see if David Blane could survive being drawn and quartered by four very large horses.
Wouldn’t it be funny if the kids who he’s helping turned out to think he’s a nut?
>WHY ARE AMANDA’S EPISODES
>MISSING FROM THE ARCHIVES?
Not to lose of useless place ?

What’s the artist/title of the music: Gravity?
As always, Joanne got a great interview, but this time in a cherry picker. Love it!
Wow Joanne, that interview looked like hard work LOL. He’s not very forth coming eh?

Blaine used to do some pretty good street magic, but he’s become pretty much just a publicity hound lately. But WTF, at least this time, he’s trying to help out someone.
And by the way guys, that’s a gimbal, not a gyroscope.
i’m always amazed at how everything can be turned into an ad by target, check out those rings on the gyroscope! what their doing is great and kudo’s to them for doing it with some creativity… any acrophobia joanne and ian? i’d at least have severe pogonophobia!!
Dear Savage,
Joe C is correct. Blaine is attached to a gimbal. If he (sans gimbal) were to spin at a high rate of speed, then your interpretation may become closer to correct.
Skip it. If we stop paying attention to this idiot, maybe he’d go away.
What happens when he has to pee? Poor pedestrians.
David Blaine is an alien. I mean that in a good way. He’s like from another planet. I was first introduced to him though his Street Magic specials on ABC. They freaked me out. I had never seen magic like that before and still I can’t believe some of the tricks he pulled off. His penetrating stare, is so full of compassion and intensity. One trick he did was flip through a bunch of cards, the person was told to choose one at a glance. It was a mind-reading exercise.
Anyway, I too chose a card while watching it on the tube. I could have picked one of dozens, but when he told the person what the card was, it was the one I had chosen as well. It freaked me out.
I don’t really care for the Houdini direction he has gone into over the years. It shows his incredible stamina, power of concentration (which is beyond belief) as his taking mind, body and soul to extremes.
However, I still prefer the On the Street meet the People Magic…where he simply walks up to a couple or even gangbangers, cops, firmen, etc and freaks them all out.
That’s the David Blaine I prefer. I hope he goes back to doing Street Magic.
All the bext..David Blaine.
I know, one day you will reveal you are from another planet.
I just know it.
MusicLover — I believe the song is called, “What is Gravity.” It can be found on the album Space Songs, which is also the source of the Rocketboom anthem, “Zoom a Little Zoom.”

In my (very biased) opinion
famous modern day magician = attention hungry egocentric jerk with no real talent
From the interview “its not just about me”. Just? Gag.
Um…the only redeeming thing about this stunt is that this event is going towards a charitable cause. And that’s it.
sorry if that’s harsh.
I’ve seen Blaine interviewed on a couple of occasions.
Well done Joanne.
He gave it his best shot -
turning the interview back on
the interviewer - but you held your ground.
Respect to both of you - and
of course all the rest of you.
As for Blaines illusions ..
well … are you absolutely
sure that WAS David Blaine ?
Wednesday is really
Nov. 22nd. not the 21st :)
I think Blaine was hitting on Joanne with that, “Are you English?” comment!!!
I am glad the archives will be back! I just discovered Rocketboom (uh, yesterday, I know, I am behind the times) and am looking forward to going through all the archives along with the daily video. You all are great. Thanks!
That was wonderfully surreal.
That quite literally nauseated me. The guy seems cool, I have no issues with the show. Seriously, I feel like I’m going to throw up.
Hey, I saw target commercials for this.
Joanne had some really good questions
And David had some really craooy answers,
How long had he been up there when he was being interviewed? Its almost like he was drunk
I, personally, absolutely! could care less!! whomever or whatever Joanne “interviews.”If Joanne were to be interviewing a frog in the rain, a praying mantis in a garden, a kitten in a barn, a monkey in a zoo …? even if she were to be out on a friday the thirteenth freezing cold winter night, with a telescope pointing to the full moon, with her back to the camera wait …, I retract that last part, I want to see her face when I click to RocketBoom, but that english accent of hers is simply adorable. Marmalade on rye toast, like banana slices on my peanut butter and jelly sandwich I simply and perfectly enjoy listening and hearing it spoken … buy her … alot. There are many dialects of languages. English has the Southern (US of A) dialect, there’s the Boston dialect, the Brooklyn accent, Joanne’s  mine (I was reared in an area sixty miles north along the Hudson River from New York City …Britain is a geographically small area. I believe her dialect is not Scottish (… it is?) Would a keen resident of Great Britain recognize to identify Joanne’s “accent” perhaps to one of ten, fifteen specific regions of Great Britain that possess their own unique dialects? and then to know generally, specifically where she comes from? I’m just curious is all now.RocketBooom still maintains my two thumbs up!
My latest post to RocketBoom above took over an hour to edit, think of things, re-edit. I had to post it and go on to other “things.”… the above post would’ve been “better” though if I’d written, a half dozen newborn kittens in a box in a barn.I only have twenth-four hours in a day, and I can’t stay in front of the computer all the time, but I just thought of that and wanted to post it correct.Gotta go do some “thing.”
