Daniel has done shoes for lots of celebs and professional athletes. A really smart and talented guy, and only 20!
Turd! This is the first time in over 13 months that I did not watch through to the end of the episode.
not sure a shoe painter is worthy of a whole episode.
(he says as he glues rhinestones to his Hilfiger jacket)
Yeah. He’s Daniel James . . . and I don’t care.
Did he say the “stars” all wanted “free shit”. He needs to learn about capitalism. Then his moma would be proud. Never the less, I did like him.
This guy actually refers to himself as “up and coming”?!
Ick.
“dissapoints”, indeed.
Love the segment Zadi!
this boy would made a kickass decoration for your background painting the map in his style
Interesting! I would like to have seen some pics of the celebs who wear his stuff. If he doesn’t have any, he should get some.
I haven’t written in much lately because I think the comments on this page have really gone downhill in the last four months.
Still like the show.
I liked the episode, yet I wanted to see the shoes!

Speaking of shoes, here’s a 2000 year old sandal from a museum:

sorry but i found this to be quite boring and repetitive. how many times can i say my name?
wow, he actually said kanye west isnt arrogant.
riiiiiiight
Oh -( … ummm … errrrr…
I know you’re kidding - but I can’t find the link to the punch line.
Paint your own Gym shoes - that’s ….. not worth another word.
Oh .. I nearly forgot -

If I stepped into a puddle with my painted shoes on, would it ruin the art work?
Kinda neat.
I wonder what the price tag is on a pair of custom shoes like that?
Wish Daniel the best of luck in future endeavors.
Zadi, we always want you to be in front of the camera rather than anywhere else. Great editing/shooting though!
K then!
I see Amanda Congdon has some big, new, projects coming up. Anyone care to start a pool to see how long she and Yoko-KFed Librandi lasts if she starts making some bucks? I hope she didn’t sighn a contract again.
I can never decide what to wear with my painted sneakers.
This is what makes RB great. The diverse content that you just don’t see in the main stream. Those of you out there that did not enjoy today’s show or felt it was not up to par , this is your opinion. I respect that, and welcome it. This is yet another great thing about this new form of media, you can voice your un happiness, and it is heard. Let us face it, this is not the first or last thing RB will do that you, or me, or that guy over there is not going to like, right? In the end, what is important, to me, is that you remain constructive!
Great job Zadi, the edit and camera work were top notch. The only thing I want to know is, how much and can I get a size 12?
BLOGGY,
I don’t recommend using Amanda’s name in your comment. My comments mentioning her seem to disappear. It seems that deleting is the producer’s primary editing tool in here.
HARTLESS,
That is so true. Yestyerday, while cruising through the archives I realized “her name” has also disappeared from the archives. Any old episodes used to say daily with “her name”. That isn’t there anymore. What gives? You shouldn’t change archives, or else they are not really archives anymore.
Today’s show was not my favorite. My feeling on our little artist/designer here was that he came off as shy/overwelmed by the attention. It just made me think that he was young and of that personallity where he was picked on for being “different”. Endearing for a young artist instead of the “I am the greatest thing ever” BS that you just want to see crushed by reality. But I digress. Being the cynic that I am, I kept thinking “What makes your shoes better than something I could do myself?” I would have liked to hear a price as to what he was selling them for. As far as celebs wanting them for free, I think this is common place for certain successful people. Some may think they are entitled since they are “just so popular”. He just has to weigh the “It is about the art, if I don’t make money fine” the “If I give you these shoes, and they are seen and other people buy them, thus I make money” and the “Why am I giving this away for free! I need cash too!”
Mr. stevenson,
First, I appreciate you for properly spelling my name.
In regards to “her”, it doesn’t seem right but this is the new media. The “rules” are still being developed. I have tried to influence Andrew’s actions in this area. Regretfully, the almighty dollar has greater influence in both old and new media.
Finally, the comment from yesterday is no longer there, but whomever wrote that Drew was giving Amanda her 49% share in RB appeared to be making the same point.
Spiffy red shirt Joanne. Bright red shirts are my personal favorites.RocketBoom maintains two thumbs up to me.
Thanks Rocket Boom for showing me something I normally would not want to see!
This guy is going to have a TV character based on him soon. Sort of like his own version of Serge in Beverly Hills Cop but differrent. Or the Johnny Depp does Keith Richards version of Danial. Wait and see.
Disappoints.
Come on! If these shoes would be nice in at least some way.. Have you even looked at them? Or the iPod? This is really embarassing!
crap!
Cool shoes!
i can’t understand the hype. in the ninties some bored skatboardkid did this in SF@embarcadero and nearly every skate kid in the world did it, too. In the smallest towns in germany kids painted their shows in their own styles and they often cut the hi boots down to a kind of low sneakers.
So, this 20 year old guy found a 10 year old skatemagazine from his older brother and thought: ou, it’s time do do it again! And he was right! Unbelieveable.
mit freundlichen Grüßen aus Deutschland,
mrw
@ RB: Great work! Keep it up!
