  3. Hello RB,

Art inform new ideas – in the first segment – hey! Cloning isn’t a thing of the future!

Art always was and is connected with science. The second segment is great!

  4. It looks like the kind of softcore porn Commander Data might create after leafing through a book of Nagel prints.

  7. I’m glad I found this website. For the first time in my life I think I’m beginning to realize what went, … what was going through Gomez when he heard Morticia speaking French syllables.

I liked Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins.

I mean, if anyone has the ear of Joanne’s cameraman there, I have a request: if it’s possible, … uhm? maybe for the next couple of months, maybe try and refrain from real close close-ups of Joanne. At least …, especially while she’s conversing, … in conversation with someone. I’ve already watched ALL her videos, some like five, ten times, and now I’m done and I want to watch them all over again …!

Just for the next couple of months …, no close-ups please? Especially when she’s actually saying something.

    Thanks.

  9. “I like my art with a bit of technology and new media thrown in…”

Does that mean that Joanne (or the scriptwriter) is not fond of other types of art, such as painting, drawings, and sculpture?

Is technology all that’s important to Joanne (or just the scriptwriter) or is she interested in questions of truth and beauty?

It’s a very scripted line, a phony-sounding cop-out that serves to preview the show. People don’t really say things like that. Do they?

  10. Good episode overall. Najjar’s gibberish could have been cut out. That was neither science nor art.

  11. Those freaks amuse me…oh, we will upload and download our cloned beings. In this way we can reach maximum ocupancy of Hell all the faster. Ooh, I hope they have Starbucks there.

Joanne, the displays were entertaining but the ‘artists’ are full of shiite and detracted from your show.

  12. Synaptic Cabalis…I thought last week’s meeting in SUBLEVEL 8 was a “no cameras allowed” deal. I figured it would show up in an RB episode. Well, now that you know, we drank and then practised “Mind over Matter” How elese can you take over the world?

    On another note…

Art & technology is the art form of the future. It blurs the line between many different mediums: video, interactive multimedia, imaging, immersive VR, computer animation, kinetics, electronics, robotics, machine control, precision metalworking, responsive objects, neon, holography, digital sound and video (including multi-channel sound and multi-screen projection), electronic media-based installation, biotech, telecommunication, and internet-based art. You have to disciplined in so many fields, not just traditional art, but mathematics, engineering and physics. In essence you become an inventor. Many interactive installations I’ve seen are just BS, but every once and a while there is pure genius in how the artwork interacts with the visitors in the exhibition hall. The brilliant pieces make you reflect on many aspects of life, your inner world, how you interact with other people, cultures and environments. (Do I win a Drewy?)

  14. hmmmmm wondering back in today to take a look around ….

interesting story–though chilling in many regards–about cloning.

reproducing bodies without the joy of sex … and we’re striving for that?

the bottles synchronized to synapses in the brain was way cool.. they should have shown them all spinning and cracking..and said … these are your bottles on drugs …

    (cue laughter)

ahem … welll good to wonder back in … Joanne should be a bit more penetrating in her Q&A and not quite so obliging … sample question for Dr. CloneFreak .” do you realize you’re working your weenie out of a job here?”

    and so on …

I know … you’re all terribly glad to see me back …

    God love you all…

    Even the Democrats …

    Later friends.

  15. I’ve been watching this show since early Congdon, and it’s only getting better. The relationship of art and technology is by no means difficult to appreciate. Engineers and programmers create beautiful works of art all the time. Carry on.

  16. That last line seems fishy …

    God love you all…

    Even the Democrats …

I have a sneaking suspicion Bill the PR Guy is actually Bill Clinton himself, trying to disguise himself with the odd salutation there.

Bill listen to me, the Republicans are not “out to get you” … anymore.

God, I thought you were going to smack that guy. No more interviews for awhile, ok? Go get some rest. Settle down.

    Geez.

  18. Yes, seventy to ninety percent of the military objectives were accomplished.Given the circumstances, a very good job Mr. Secretary.Onward …!The pincers around Iran are starting to squeeze …Some men are born great; some men achieve greatness, and some men have greatness thrust upon them.

Hope for the best and George and The Great Communicator will be seen triumphant, as in elephant. And if the Coalition of the Willing prevail in Iraq in the near future, another opportunity for the Democrats to ketchup, or to make a mark for themselves doesn’t seem coming around the horizon.

Kerry would never have gone into Iraq. Iran would not now be “surrounded,” and with two down and only three other Islamic nations hostile to the West left to topple in the future, Kerry and the Democrats wouldn’t- they couldn’t in fact punch their way out of a wet paper bag … mentally.

Mark these words: Hillary is going to punch/kick Iran in the balls … twice. And with that grinning President of Iran there on its knees now, and holding his swollen crouch, Hillary will yank back the not grinning anymore head with a handfull of his hair and whisper, face to face, “Had enough? …pal!!” Humiliated Bill will make sure Hillary gets those nukes of Iran “neutralized.” Believe me Bill is pissed off at the Islamics who want to harm the West; Bill gave them a break during his administration, and these same Islamics, ie. Syria, Iran, (Sudan and Somalia, same thing) stabbed him and America in its back. Bill is hiding it but he is pissed off if you didn’t know.

Bill & Hillary can get mad at each other, and mad at others too, and I believe neither would hesitate to use anger while in defence of America and the West.
