Hello World!

Ze Queektyme fyle - eet iss not compatible or ees corrupted, no? ARRRRG! What squares.
too serious; desperately need Casual Friday show now!
Is this another protest show or something? It’s 9:23 Central and no RB vlog. I’ve already read all the story links and had extra coffee. I hope the show isn’t disappointing after all this waiting.
Oh yeah! When is the t-shirt contest coming to an end. We have had two extensions and the very very very last, no ifs, ands, or buts, has past, and no results. What’s up??
Should traditional media be afraid?
Well, only if their careers are based solely on nepotism and they have no talent.
Oh but wait: Everyone says nepotism is rife in traditional media in the USA.
I suppose that rumor might be false…
I think if A could have given them a dance lesson and gotten all those guys to dance along with her, that would have been perfect RB.
Regarding Leron’s post above, the ABC News podcast above is at This link. The file is an mv4 document larger than 80 Mb and includes American Express commercials in its beginning and end; you can right click on PC or ctrlClick in the mac to save it, then watch using quicktime or in your itunes. The relevant information begins at 13 minutes, 58 seconds.
What a bore fest!!!!!
I agree, I was hoping for something more amusing this morning….
Is there anywhere online to view the full keynote presentations, or at least read them?
With all the hi-tech geniosityâ„¢ (just created-don’t touch) roaming cyberspace and maven-like conferences galore to promote/tout their own agendas… I have one important question to ask:
Did anyone see a plane?
(…talking about the Pentagram)
Hey Nab:
I count on Google not finding my comments. I sometimes say a lot more in comment space than I do on my own blog knowing that most people I know won’t be able to search me out and find it.
The flip side, I’ve also learned, is if I say something brilliant in a comment, I better make note of where/when it was or I’ll never be able to find it again.
cheers,
connie
Amanda your sooo right it is about having good content.
Good content like your combination of
self depricating humor
“hosting a video blog does not translate into having good public speaking skills.”
and
competitive confidence
“‘Should we be threatened…’ No not if your content can compete.”
Your honesty is the good content.
Hey Amanda,
Oddly I’m not a geek but I do find the possiblilities of what are being said today really exciting. I think the internet is coming to a new “epoch” in it’s existance where things that are happening where choices are not being spoon fed to us. I would like to think the big conglomerates are shaking in their boots….but no doubt they are licking their lips trying to figure out how to get another gorging of money out what is happening.
Thanks.
I don’t think that “real” media should be too concerned until your average joe can begin making a career from sydicating their own content.
Obviously, it is possible for a select few right now, but there are very few (I assume). Once jounalists can quit their jobs and leave the newsroom for their living room, i think they begin to be very very worried.
But as far as right now, I think the people that are afraid of it, don’t fully understand consumer generated media and what it is all about. Once they do begin to understand it, they’ll understand how big the fire is under their buts encouraging them to produce better content.
Gotta love singing science!!!
Completely forgot to mention, today’s episode was surprisingly interesting (i don’t normally like conference-type thingies) I loved it.
Hey, did you see Josh Hallet down there? Anybody who is anybody knows that it is not just about “content,” but also where the content originates and WHO contributes.
I didn’t realize Jeff now needs two mikes to communicate with the audience! ;)
Amanda, I’m sure you were the breath of fresh air at the conference. Thumbs up on variety. Interesting vcast.
(And what are you people thinking… she’s presenting at a conference and your expecting a peice on blue rubber duckies?! Appreciate the art and technology people…)
Still like your site.
That was a lame episode…I’m going to watch Ze Frank
