  2. Congrats on the NPR story. The use of the “Rocket” science song is starting to trouble me little, though, not because I dislike it (it’s perfect for the show), but because I think its creators may deserve something for the song’s creation and use. Should we find these performers and send them a dollar, if they are, in fact, to be found?

  4. I want to see how they hid the defibrillator box inside Bush’s jacket during the 2004 debates. Was it a round the chest trap, or over the shoulder?

And what about the earpiece? I want to try that! I want to hear the Veep!

By the way, everyone go now and google for “Leave it to Bush”.

  5. Hmm… after Googling it, found out that the rocket song guy, Tom Glazer, died in 2003. We can take all would-be-donated dollars and buy a Chevy Tahoe instead.

  8. Great show. Now, please learn to use the shutter control on the camera. Will make a world of difference next time you’re attempting to shoot a TV, computer, or stroboscopic sculpture.

  11. There’s a Robert Deniro display in this museum that featured a clip of Jack Lamota grunting and shadow boxing. For a while I thought the sound was a real person doing it (I’ve been there more than once). My personal favorite is the Red Grooms Egyptian Theatre.

  12. Talk about great technology… heard about Rocketboom on NPR this morning, tuned in and am inspired by you young folks creative, ingenious use of the web. LOVED the Iraq ‘news’!
    Keep it up… I’m hooked.

(they should have showed ‘T-squares’ and ‘Pencils’ in the techno-history museum… that’s what I used as a graphic designer when I started in 1973.)

  25. See thru? Now isn’t the fantasy always better. Isn’t illusion a great guiding light. The spirit sparkle of A. Congdon is just dandy without a peep show. So let’s be happy with the intelligence and the fun. Woof Woof

  26. What a cool place! I’ll be chaperoning a bunch of my college students on a trip to NYC at the end of June, and I definately want to try to get there.

And major congrats on the NPR interview, although he really didn’t let you talk all that much. But combining two of my favorite sources of information is grand. Now if you can just get on the Daily Show I can die a happy man. :-)

  31. NPR is to liberal democrats what fox news is to republican conservatives.

(If it weren’t 2:40 am there’s no way I’d leave behind such flamebait)

The interview was mediocre. His fault not yours, and also bc it was too short and was working under the assumption people listening had never heard of you.

Yah, we your loyal viewers get the reason for the map already.

I would ask you hard edgy insightful kick ass questions that fans would just eat up. Or maybe I just I think I would bc its 3 am.

  34. I’m glad I read the 5-11-06 comments (I don’t usually); otherwise I wouldn’t have known about the NPR interview and the Katrina program. Even though people found it painful to watch, that seems no reason to remove it from the archives. The clip conveyed the hopelessness and despair that followed Katrina; we shouldn’t conveneniently shelve that reaction. Should “United 93″ have a happy ending added, since it’s upsetting, too?

On a lighter note, I’ve been a fan since the NYT story last fall. Amanda, your ship WILL come in! Your combination of talent, spark, insouciance, and ability not to take yourself too seriously (as well as a lovely way with impolitic language) will have you in Streepdom one of these days. I’m glad to see a bit more of ABC (Amanda’s Beautiful Curves, or Amazing Bod’, Christalmighty) in recent episodes. Keep up the good work!

  46. I have been to that Museum - several times actually. The flip book maker is great - I have several flip books of myself performing sweet Ninja moves.

Its a great museum for non-artsy people like myself. I highly recomend it - plus its easy to get there on the Subway.
