YAY! White borders around 4:3 videos!
Since I’m second…
I don’t have a link to click on.
:)
Who could that masked superhero be? I wonder… RuPaul?
i GUESS i’M 8. oH IT FEELS SOOOO GOOOD!
I guess i’m 6…Er …I don’t know.
Love the animated rocket that reveals the super!!!
Love file sharing. I can’t wait to see all the great stuff from Austin.
P. S.: As usual, I didn’t watch the ad. Actually, the situation is a lot less terrible than I thought it would have been, probably because I’m used to all of those sites with their flashing banners ore Google AdSense columns everywhere ad where if you want to watch a video you have to watch the ads too.
Sorry guys but that commercial is terrible. I know TRM believes in you and it’s great that they are sponsoring you..but who’s ever idea it was for this commercial is not very good I’m afraid. Hire a real agency TRM.
Sorry for the mistakes, I’m BAD, BAD, BAD at typing
Great interview with Graham. Loved the little rocket graphic. You’re getting to be real pros.
Simple ideas come in simple office space.
The doorbell was the giveaway.
Oh Buddha Boy where are you, all this tech stuff is starting to freak me out.
Don’t worry Amanda’s animated Rocket will find you…keep breathing Buddha Boy _ IN/OUT
IN/OUT….
Graham Walker has great glasses.
Oh, and All Peers looks snazzy.
Again, the commercial failed.
Please stop with the horrible commercials.
“ATM Machine”???
Can I use my PIN Number at the ATM Machine???
(If you don’t get it we can go word by word) Can I use my Personal Identification Number Number at the Automated Teller Machine Machine???
Also the video is interlaced, simple to fix but you guys don’t care about your viewers experience do you?
My daily dose of Rocketboom is getting squeezed by these annoying ATM commercials — at least I can simply stop 75% through the feed. Try something different.
N
sure, most of the revolutions are based on simple ideas noone thought about before … allpeers seems to have a good one.
I enjoyed the first adds, but this one was not that good … but hey!, it’s just the first week!
Does the ratio money collected / time to make the add was worth the try ?
Amusing ad, but come on - advertising ‘3DES security’ as a feature, when it’s basically a band-aid over a broken algorithm? Meh.
Way to sell your soul to TRM
the ad is mad! as in crazy. Does TRM like? blurring the lines? Quite. AllPeers…sounds cool…waiting for the great convergence…’til then. Caio for now.
Sorry. Meant to add this too. Does TRM feel they are getting the
bang for their buck?
Graham’s story was the single best piece of micromedia “journalism” I have seen so far. If I worked for a network, I would offer Graham a job. If I, in turn, magically became Graham, I would turn down that offer.
good stuff.
bald + turtleneck = no-no.
It looks… yes… like that part of your body.
Hey, who’s the dude doing the intro with Amanda?
Today’s episode makes me feel like I need new glasses.
What’s up with the phone feeds?
I used to download the latest 3gp video from my car every day, but it hasn’t worked all week!
I don’t have the time in front of the computer, where’s the cell phone feed!
great story about allpeers. keep up the good work graham.
Hmm. There seems to be an inverse relationship between more advertising and the overall quality of the “shows.”
Glad the archives are available so I can revisit your better stuff.
Still a fan, but waning with the adverts.
Very Good Sequence, the fruit of your CREATIVITY & CREATIVITY will reap handsomely in the long run.
Keep the positive good and the negative will be drowned unenchanted.
Cheers!!!
Am I the only one who saw it, or was Matt Gertner hitting on Amanda?
Loving the stories, but man,
I am now officially hating the commercials. Not really against ads as a rule, but these have crossed the line from fun and silly to just embarassingly lame.
My suggestion is to either pull back a little to silly-fun again, or push full force into the so absolutely absurd it gets funny again. I’d really love to see the latter, but if you stay at this level, though, ugh!
cool at first, but the ATM or TRM or whatever superhero …..to be continued, please DO NOT CONTINUE!
because thats not Art. its b…s…
offcourse, that is not personal!=)
Very interesting, how can I get more on the Allpeers idea and when will it be available?

People of TRM: Amanda should be in the interface of the Atm guiding the process, people will prefer operating in those machines, customers feelling excited will extract more money, banks will earn more charging interests, with the money customers extract they will buy ATMs for their girlfriens/boyfriends, for them to use them and buy them their ATM….it can be a BOOOOM!!!
Send me money for this idea.
Right… a commercial is supposed to have in-depth backstory? Are you retarded? It’s a commercial! Man some of these comments are from such dopes.
Can we count on the commercial always being the last thing? I think after today I’ll just hit stop as soon as the content ends.
love the rocket graphic!
hi chuck! recognized your voice today in the commercial. :)
hope you guys are having a great time. wish i was there!
49th! YEAH! 7^2!!!11!!!!!!1!!!1111!1!!

The success, or otherwise, of these ads will clearly be measured by a) a measurable step-change in TRM sales and b) the money raised on eBay for the next batch of ads; or maybe the ads have already achieved their intended aim, which could have been to a) raise some much deserved revenue for our beloved RB, b) test the RB audience for their reaction to tail-ads c) give AC some amateur stage time and/or d) give the Decision Maker in TRM some face to face time with AC? votes?

My points:
1. Another software tech promising software that’s not fully developed, let alone de-bugged.
2. Echo previous comment re: baldness + sweater.
3. Digging the rocket usage.
4. I really like TRiM!!!
Not sure about today’s ad either, but the concept of RB producing the commercials is a good one. I think yesterday’s was the best of the three. I did like Superamanda’s (Megamanda’s?) genuinely-hurt delivery of the absurd line “But why, The Man?”
Nice killer app. A truly decentralized internet will be yet another thorn in The Man’s side.
I don’t care what anyone else says, but we think your commercials are brilliant! I’d never thought I’d ever say this, but we actually look forward to seeing these ads just to see where you go next. It’s been really great watching you guys grow into where you are today, and we look forward to seeing more.

Everyone should see this.
Now you’ll know why music used to mean something, there were REAL MUSCIANS!

Well, I thought the most original touch to the super hero concept was the bell-bottoms costume in segment one. You don’t see that too often. The generic Wonderwoman tights and boots is OK, but the Bell Bottoms really caught my attentiion. Onward.
Re: Alpeers: they had that distant Eastern Euro smugness. II sort of expected them to pull a Dieter and end their section with a brusque: ” Now this is when we daaance.”
Pet my monkey please.
Come on, guys, cut RB some slack. Yeah, the commercial is a bit rough, but when’s the last time any of you did something new perfectly the first time. I think this shows a lot of promise, and as they become more comfortable with the idea of creating interesting ads the overall quality will improve. I totally prefer this over the slick, ‘no, were not really evil’ Madison Avenue type advertising we’re inundated with daily. And as for the cryptic references, I have no doubt that the target audience is fully aware of what the features mentioned mean.
OK why are rocket boom 1st comment posters retards (a bit like slashdot in that regard)
As to allpeers hmmm - I have some issues with that - nice idea. Lets hope its not going to become the ‘ie activex’ security hole of firefox or something like that.
Just thinking early: did anyone notice how Manda is flirting with the guy with the wierd glasses at the beginning of this episode?
;)
The content has fallen as the TRM has risen. Too much production is going into the TRM ads and it is hurting the show. How about a simple “Today’s episode is sponsored by _______” ?
Chuck - I know you’ve been sick, but are you wearing velvet? Only the best for you.
Very cool app. I’ll wait ’till the bugs are worked out and upcoming features added, though.
What the hey about the TRM ad. Just don’t get it or like it.
